It has been a while since we have been to Costa Linda Beach, but I have the fondest memories of that hotel. We arrived there after a couple of weeks of backpacking around Venezuela. We were a bit tired, had a load of dirty clothes and we needed a quiet place to relax. And that was a perfect place to brush ourselves, get some good sleep, spend lazy days at a beautiful Playa del Aqua and then close the day with a refreshing drink before dinner.

The hotel is cozy and pleasantly arranged. Our room was spacious, simple, clean and cool. We also enjoyed a buffet breakfast and dinners in the hotel restaurant. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly with arranging for a decently priced taxi (the taxi driver who brought us from the ferry pier charged three times more than the driver arranged for by the hotel). I also recommend using the hotel laundry service, because it turned out to be surprisingly cheap and all our clothes were returned ironed and neatly folded within a day.

Had a great time at this little place. I guess the name is a lie, as its not actually on the beach, but its only a few minutes walk down the road. The hotel is beautiful, the room was really clean, bathroom was nice, the air-con was pretty powerful if you wanted it to be, and the breakfast was plentiful. I know some people worry about security in Venezuela, but there are no such problems here. I also had a meal there one night, i had the steak, and can highly recommend it! There aren't any flaws with the place at all. As for the beach and village, i have to say i got a little bit bored, as i got sunburnt, and there's not a lot to do there but swim in the sea / lie on the beach / lie by the pool, but if you're after the sun, its the place to go, and far better than the many tacky all-inclusive Butlins-style megahotels on the island. If you can, pay cash in dollars, as you get a 10% discount. Enjoy!

This is a warm & lovely place. It's set around a small pool and well kept garden filled with bougainvilles & hammocks.

The design is vaguely Mexican with the hammocks in every room touch of the Orinoco Delta. The reception staff are very friendly and place is kept very clean. There is no Internet connection but there is an Internet shop just a few steps up the road. The famous Playa Aqua Beach is a 5 minute walk. I was so glad my travel agent booked me into this place instead of one of the concrete hotels.

The one draw back is the day restaurant staff. They are a bit surly and the opening hours a bit strange. If you need to leave early don't expect to get breakfast by the 7:30 posted time--by 8 there is still very little set out. If you are hungry at 12--forget about getting food or even one of the wonderful fruit smoothies Venezuela is known for. You must wait until 1. And then it takes 15 minutes for them to set up and at 1:40 they eat and will watch while you wait to be served and then announce that since it's 2 the restaurant is closed and you have to wait until 3 PM to be served food. (Still, after 2 Pm, they do deign to serve smoothies.) The night wait staff, is however, very accomodating and not so strict about the hours. The food is good but the menu selection is limited and it is a bit expensive.

I went diving twice with Margarita Divers and had a great day out both times. Most people are first time divers who get basic instruction, two dives and all gear and a very nice lunch. Whole families show up with the younger kids doing snorkelling instead of diving. If you are more advanced, they will have a Divemaster dive with you in some better places. Lots of fish and neat creatures which the DMs are very adept at spotting and pointing out. The coral is not in good shape though and visibility is not the best especially in the rainy season. But it's a very enjoyable experience as the crew is so friendly and eager to please.

Two weeks ago we've stayed there for 6 days and it was a really good cost/benefit choice. Clean, silent, relaxing, we strongly recommend it.
