What a beautiful place, I cannot understand some of the negative reviews of this hotel and staff, I guess there are some people you just can't please!

we have just returned from a beautiful 2 week stay at this resort, we got married on 5th June and it was brilliant. Alicia the wedding co-ordinator couldn't do enough for us, we met great people, and thanks to Katie and Dave who were our witnesses, and Dale, Julie, and all the other lovely people we met (you know who you are) which helped make our day even more enjoyable, we will meet for Pina Coladas soon!!!

We found the staff laid back, friendly and pleasant to those people who didn't Maybe you should just be a little more friendly we had no problems whatsoever.

Special thanks to Tony, Phoenix, at watersports for all there help and banter, to Tramaine and Reg, Lucia and the rest of the staff you guys were great. If you need a Taxi and happen to get Lewis tell him Julie and Dave said HI.

Marina thanks to you as well you know why? JJ

WOW! What a place we returned yesterday. We saw 3 weddings, the hotel has 1 wedding a day during the week and it was fantastic to see from the beach. Fabulous staff, very polite and courteous. Block 100 has fantastic views of over the Bay and gazebo. Food was fantastic and never a shortage, plenty of fresh fish. Vivyiens restaurant has the most exquiste food, Palms restaurant has fantastic food too. Very clean beaches and pools, the beach is raked every morning. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Even after a helicopter ride around the island the hotel still came out top for us with the views of the sea and only 15 mins from the airport.

“A Little Piece of Paradise”

Blue Waters

We arrived once it was dark so had to wait til the next morning to be treated to the most wonderful view of clear skies and blue sea stretching as far as my eye could see.

We stayed in Rock Cottage which is on a little peninsula to one side of the main hotel. There were four of us on a double romantic break away from London. We had our own pool, speed boat etc, beach...

The food in all restaurants was scrumptious - such a huge choice every lunchtime from the buffet in the main restaurant. The Cove, their new resto, was amazing - as good as any top London restaurant...I htink the chef perhaps trained with Ramsay - can't remember

Played doubles tennis lots and were able to use the gym equipment to burn up the calories from the divine cocktails/ sundowners.

The staff were some of the friendliest staff that I have ever come across (am thinking of bringing some over to London to work for me)

I couldn't recommend it more - very relaxed and welconing not at all stuffy like some other Antiguan hotels we visited for dinners...

“Fantastic, Gorgeous Wedding!”

Blue Waters

We went to Blue Waters in April for our wedding.
We were greeted very warmly at the hotel with a rum punch. We were upgraded to a Cove Suite which was fantastic. We had the biggest bed I have seen in my life, gorgeous bathroom, 2 plasma TV's, excellent ocean view and semi-private pool. Our upgrade definitely made the holiday. If you can afford to book the cove suites you definitely should as the main hotel rooms didin't all have good views and some looked tired.
Waiters will come and serve you drinks by the pool and they are all very friendly and nice. 90% of the staff were great but you do get the 10% which sometimes give the hotel a bad name, don't be put off. Three restaurants to choose from. Vyviens is a great restaurant just a shame it's inside. The palm was average for dinner, good for lunch and excellent for breakfast. You don't really need lunch if you have a big breakfast and afternoon tea.
The cove restaurant is brilliant, great food and surperb atmosphere.
The beach is a little small and not much to do there but if you just want to relax then the poools are great. They are lots of trips and excursions you can go on so you won't get bored. Shirley Heights is a lively night out, just beware of the rum punch there! Not much night life in hotel, some bands and singers, some were good some weren't.
If you are considering getting married at this resort but can't make up your mind then stop worrying and book. The wedding is amazing! It is such a beautiful setting. They only have one wedding a day and not even every day, over 2 weeks we saw 3 weddings. So the day is completely yours. Alicia the wedding co ordinator is just lovely, so helpful and nice. Whether you are having guests or just the two of you, it can be as lively or as low key as you like. We had stell drums which are a must, they make the atmosphere just perfect. The photographer they use is brilliant and we got great pictures of our day.It is so easy to arrange a wedding at Blue Waters, they do it all for you and you just choose what you want. You can also have a sunset cruise which is so much fun. We went with Tiami and they are definitely the best! Everything is such good value for money too. I went to Dickenson bay one day, where sandals is located. The hotel is monsterous. It is huge. The beach is public and you get a lot of nuisance locals and some are very intimidating. Lots of drugs being sold etc. The weddings are out on the public beach and leave a lot to be desired and there is more than 1 in a day. Do not have your wedding at Sandals, you will be disappointed. A few couples convert from Sandals to Blue Waters once they arrive. Please take this advice seriously.
Please feel free to contact me if you want any further info.

“Decent place”

Blue Waters

May 27, 2008

This is a good hotel with decent pool and other facilities. Located at the top of the island, so would recommend you hire a car if you intend on seeing any of the rest of the island. The hotel has a restaurant as part of the chain, The Cove, which is excellent.
