Just returned from a week at the Golf Villas (Divi Links) with my husband and two girls, 12 and 9. We had a fabulous time at this resort. We had family staying at the Mariott Stellaris and some friends at the Mariott Surf Club and I felt our resort was far better than the both of these. If you want a crowded pool and lots of activities planned each day then the Golf Villas are not for you. The pool area is tranquil and the huge slide kept the kids entertained. There isn't a push for fun and games and you are never bothered by anyone to do anything. The beach was a golf cart away (this is how you travel about the resort) and was absolutely beautiful. Once again, no crowds, The beach area at the Mariott was roped off to limit swimmers. The water was not nearly as clear down there due to all the water activities. The golf cart will take you close to the supermarket where we loaded up with groceries for breakfast and snacks. The one bedroom suite we had was spacious and clean and our balcony overlooked the pool. We also had access to the hot tub on the roof. The kitchen was fully equipped and the washer and dryer were a plus. We didn't rent a car at first, but did so after 3 days of taxi rides and bus fares adding up. The trip to and from the high rise hotels (where a lot of restaurants and casinos were) was $20 roundtrip including tip. We ended up renting a car for $30 a day (Hertz is on the property) and had more flexibility. The restaurants were excellent yet pricey. We enjoyed Blossoms (Japanese Hibatchi) at the Westin, The Palms (at the Hyatt), El Gaucho (great steaks!), La Scala and Mulligans on the property was good as well. I wouldn't bother with the Tamijrn across the street. It is an all inclusive and you had to buy coupons to eat there. The people are very accomodating and the island is beautiful. We snorkeled at Baby Beach and did Jolly Pirates which was a ton of fun. I highly recommend this Divi.
