This hotel caters to business travelers and has many levels of service. However, as a vacationer purchasing a stay with a travel agent, you will be put in a substandard room upon arrival. (There is construction ongoing. ) I was moved to two additional rooms during a 6 night stay. After the second move, my wife and I decided to stay in that room (as it was the best of the three) and spent as little time as possible in it because it was next to the elevator shaft which caused a very loud rumble in the room during the day. The desk clerk tried to get me to pay an additional US$100 per night for a better room upon my arrival. These practices are despicable... need I say more.

This hotel is ridiculous they charge higher rates for crappier rooms - completely unprofessional- never again

My husband and I stayed at the Princess for a long weekend in May 2008. Our experience was very positive-- the staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful and the hotel itself was lovely. We had a room with a balcony and a view of a courtyard and the harbor. It was a simple and quick walk to the main streets of Hamilton. We also took the free shuttle to the beach at Fairmont's other Bermuda hotel, at Southampton. The shuttle was very easy to find and use and the beach and pool at Southampton were absolutely gorgeous. Overall we had a great getaway and would stay here again.

Good business hotel but they do have problems dealing with kids.

We got a room with a balcony, it was unsafe for our youngest as head fitted through rails! ... we kept her away.

The staff do seem to lack knowledge of the policies.

They love to keep the kids eat free policy a secret (I don't see the point of having the policy if it's so begrudgingly used). It's our 3rd visit to the hotel with 2 little kids and the first time we were given anything free for the kids.. even this depended on the mood or knowledge of the staff.

As on every visit to the Fairmont hotel in Hamilton or Southampton the bill on check-out was riddled with errors and took a number of efforts to resolve.

Seemed like they've had a lot of staff changes recently ... not for the better.

It's a nice hotel but could be so much better if they treated families with children in the same way they seem to treat other guests.
