Wharf Executive Suites has one of the best locations on Hamilton Harbour. It is quiet and across the harbour from downtown but all suites have excellent Harbour views with well equipped balconies for 1/2 to 2/3rd's of the price of a hotel in Hamilton. Ferry stop is literally 30 seconds from the hotel and you can sit on your balcony and wait for the ferry to show up around the point. The ferry trip to downtown is about 15 minutes

The hotel itself is clean and well maintained and continental breakfast and 24 hour coffee is included in prices. The Wharf is within 10 minute walk of 3 of the best restaurants in Bermuda.

Blu is in Conde Nest top 100 restaurants, Fourways inn is a top restaurant on the island(and is excelllent for brunch) and Beau Rivage which just opened is one of the few french restaurants in Bermuda.

Hotel staff is helpful and will arrrange taxi's and make dinnerreservations. Best to ensure you request a taxi well in advance of required time as they can take 15 minutes to 1 hour to show up after request, particularly at busy times.

The Wharf has limited facilities but if you want to go swimming you can use the facilties of 2 sister resorts on the south shore which are $10 ride by taxi. The Surfside is the best of the 2 and has change rooms and showers for Wharf guests as well as direct beach access, pool and restaurant

Best way to travel around Bermuda(unless you rent a scooter) is to get an transportation pass($45 for 7 days) which gives you unlimited access to ferry and bus serviice both of which are excellent.

Bermuda has many excellent sites to see and one can be from one end of the island to the other in less than 1 1/2 hours by either ferry or taxi.

Poverty and unemployment on the island are both non existent as her large hotel chains(no Hiltons' Marriotts, Holiday Inns, or Sheratons) and Bermuda is generally safe.

If you are not dying to stay on the beach and are looking for an affordable, centrally located, basic hotel with immediate access to Bermuda's ferry system--then this place is for you! It is new and clean, the staff goes above and beyond and it's great to walk out onto a deck overlooking Hamilton Harbor.

“What a nice surprise!”

My husband needed to go to Bermuda on business and I decided to join him. I had been to the island before and knowing how beautiful, clean and SAFE it is I had no qualms spending some time alone exploring while he was at meetings. I was a little disappointed--at first--with the company's hotel selection but since we weren't paying I figured I would make do. First of all, we arrived late and the check in person could not have been nicer. She went over everything quickly and warmly. Our room was very spacious w/ a refrigerator, wet bar, micro and coffee maker. Nothing luxurious--everything was standard and comfortable. The balcony was literally feet from the water and I could see the fish. The views of the bay are breathtaking.

The best part of this hotel? You are step away from the ferry and the hotel has tokens that they conveniently add to your room charge! So, my husband got up early and w/in seconds was at the ferry stop. i would wake later, get ready, and take the ferry to Hamilton and shop. Our cell phones worked on the island so we would meet up there. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to have the convenience of this ferry RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOTEL!!

Things to know: nothing, absolutely nothing to do at the hotel other than gaze at the beautiful view. I didn't want to risk walking around (because there is barely room for the cars-- forget pedestrians) so thank goodness for the ferry. For eating, you must take ferry or cab to restaurants. The continental breakfast was rather disappointing. Maybe as N. Americans we are obsessed w/ refrigeration but at this "breakfast" layout there were yogurts, cream cheese, and milk left out all morning. By 9 am it was all at room temp and there was no a/c running in this sitting room, either. Not hot, but adding to the lack of refrigeration issue. The cream cheese was NEVER put away in the 3 mornings we ventured in there--by day 2 curiousity set in and I opened the lid...frightening. The items were cereal bozes, unrefrigerated yogurts (that would be taken away at 10 am only to be put right back out the next morning), breads (only select danishes were wrapped and I would eat some of that plus dry cereal), peanut butter, and jams that again were left out 24/7. The coffee maker was great w/ several selections of teas and coffees.

The staff were SO NICE. They gave us an umbrella when it rained, beach towels to take to Horseshoe Beach, good restaurant advice, and just so incredibly friendly. If you are looking to have a great time in Bermuda w/out spending hundreds just for a hotel, seriously check this place out...i was really pleasantly surprised!

“The Wharf Executive Suites- Bermuda”

The Wharf Executive Suites

My husband and I spent two nights at the Wharf towards the end of our Bermuda vacation. The small hotel sits right on the bay facing Hamilton and the views are impressive. The hotel also sits steps away from the Darrell's Wharf ferry, and you can pay 2.50 US to get into town, right on Front street close to some amazing restaurants and shopping. Considering the high cost of taxis and the fact that tourists cannot rent cars (you'll see why), the proximity to the ferry is very convenient. You really cannot hike along the roads in Bermuda without some danger- and we did not feel confortable about moped rental, so the ferry system was perfect. You can get to St. George and the Royal Dockyard on the ferry as well.
The downside to all of this was that by US standards, the room though clean, was not tended to correctly. We found someone elses toothbrush in one of the dresser drawers, and the tv and one of the phones had been disconnected- someone had also left a supply of herbaloss weight loss products in the kitchenette pantry. The patio door lock was like a rubicks cube... we had to ask for help several times to get it opened and shut.
The room was spacious but I did not sleep well in the bed, and found myself needing a nap during the day. The staff was friendly and we had a safe in the room- continental breakfast in a nice sitting room was a plus, with the neatest coffee machine I have ever used. The Wharf is a good value in Bermuda- not perfect though, so assess your needs and proceed accordingly.

“Great Place, disappointing manager”

I stayed there for a brief business trip in May and absolutely loved the hotel - it is perfect for the travelling business man. The view is gorgeous - you're right next to the harbour and see the city on the other side. You're so close to the water, you could fish from your balcony. High speed internet, very clean and barely a year old - I would recommend it! The only negative thing was the owner / manager. He seemed to have the attitude that he was doing you a favour by letting you stay there. Any requests were handled by him with an air of "how dare you make me do something for you" - very dissapointing. Yet again, the rest of the staff were great.
