We just returned from a 10 day stay at this completely wonderful hotel. From the moment we walked into the lobby until the morning we left; our experience was one of the finest we have ever had. The staff is superb. The manager Sandra quickly makes you feel like you are a good friend - sharing experiences, giving dining suggestions, trip suggestions, etc. etc. The rooms are immaculate, the pool is lovely, the views to die for and the on site restaurant - Casa Luna - is a true dining experience. The beach is a short walk down the road and the hotel gives you lounge chairs and beach towels and someone to carry them to the beach for you if you so desire! We will absolutely go to Barbados and this wonderful hotel again. For a romantic trip and just pure relaxation; it can't be beat.

“little arches - a dream”

On arriving at Little Arches and being shown to my room, my first impression was that the website does not do the place justice as the rooms are amazing as is the whole buliding itself but I believe this is going to be updated.

I had my wedding here on the 31st of May and Emma was absolutley fantastic in arranging everything for 40 guests, the largest number they have and I can't say enough how brilliant Emma was. My wedding day was perfect and not even the complaining of other guests about music being played in the restaurant which was hired out by us, could spoil an amazing evening and all 40 guest throughly enjoyed themselves.

As well as Emma and Sandra, all other staff were friendly and very helpful.

We will definitely be returning to Little Arches to meet everyone again and rememebr our very special day

“An AMAZING experience!”

Little Arches is an amazing boutique hotel that has accomplished a rare feat: a beautiful property, fabulous rooms, a highly rated restaurant with insanely good food and service, a great beach, and most importantly, a friendly and courteous staff. I mean come on .. how often is it that you find a place like that nowadays?

We chose to have our wedding reception at Cafe Luna, the restaurant at Little Arches. They were accomodating from Day One: the restaurant staff, led by Moo De Chef, executed the perfect ending to a perfect day and I could not possibly have asked for more. They exceeded all of our expectations and especially those of my six year old son, who swears by Steve the Bartender's smoothies =)

If you are looking for a reception location - definitely look at Cafe Luna. I believe they can accomodate up to 40ish .. we only had 16, and we had the entire rooftop restaurant. The view and ambience were just insanely wonderful. Our family and friends were delighted with the experience - the food and drinks were the best we have had on the island since we have been here.

We stayed one evening at Little Arches - our wedding night - and had we not rented a villa for us and our families in St James, we would not have hesitated to have booked there for the entire week. It was the epitomy of romantic.

“opportune honeymoon in june (and i swoon to be back soon)”

** This is my attempt to continue the TripAdvisor legacy of Little Arches. We read this site religiously before booking our honeymoon, and could not have been more pleased with the results....

We arrived on a late, 3.5-hour Sunday night flight from Miami. Instead of hailing a taxi, we had arranged for the hotel to book a driver for us that evening -- Michael, of Parris Taxi Service, was waiting for us after we got out of customs. With the hotel's front desk only open from 7a-10p, Michael found the hotel's nightwatchman and got our room key without a problem.

We stayed in Room 1, Union Island, complete with a kitchen and private balcony with jacuzzi. There was a lovely note and a small bottle of Mount Gay Rum waiting for us. Everything was exceptionally clean and beautiful. Of the two front rooms (ours and Room 2, Palm Island), we had more privacy -- we walked by their balcony to get to ours. I doubt they were bothered the whole week, tho. Three quick notes on our room: the shade next to the vanity did not completely cover the window, the bathroom could use some more ventilation, and the jacuzzi was serviceable (temperature-wise) but the jets didn't do much.

In the morning, we checked in with the front desk. Cherisse could not have been more kind -- genuinely friendly, as were all of the folks there (Liz and Emma on the desk; Sandra the manager; Sylvester, Rose and everyone else). It was clear that for the rest of the week, they would take care of our every whim.

We had breakfast every morning (free w/ 7-night stay) that was simply wonderful. We also ate three dinners at Cafe Luna and enjoyed all of them. Our favorite meals away included the Oistins Fish Fry (short walk to THE Friday night event on the island) and Surfers Bay (tucked away on a beach in a neighborhood just to the east; Michael recommended it for the low-key atmosphere, and the food was outstanding).

For the location, you are right in front of a beach that more than one local said was their favorite on the island. A simple call to the front desk, and beach chairs are on their way down to the sand for you. The beaches on the southern side of the island have enough waves to make them fun (unlike west), but not enough to make them dangerous (unlike east). You're also right off the bus line, which makes for an adventurous way to get anywhere on the southwest coast (Bridgetown, St. Lawrence, etc.). We never felt unsafe on the island, as most everyone was extremely nice.

The hotel set us up to play a round of golf at Barbados Golf Club and take a catamaran (sp?) ride (thanks to Timothy and Stevenson on the Silver Moon). Both were well worth it. We also rented a car for a couple of days, which allowed us the freedom to get to Earthworks Pottery, Bathsheba and the Crane -- all worth seeing. Driving was quite the adventure. You drive on the left without too many street signs, sub-par maps and a lot of potholes on narrow roads.

Overall, the people make Little Arches an absolute dream destination. They went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of on our honeymoon, and we had an amazing time. I could keep going and going, but you're tired of reaching and I'm tired of writing. Drop a note if you have any questions....

“Perfection”

I just returned from my wedding recently held at Little Arches and I could not have imagined a more perfect setting for my intimate ceremony. The resort resembles a Mediterranean villa and the views from the pool deck and restaurant are breathtaking. The staff is incredibly accommodating- one of the benefits to staying at such a small property is that the staff really takes the time to get to know all of their guests and that personal touch amplifies the experience – they even have a manager’s reception on Wednesday nights so all the hotel guests can meet each other. We all fell in love with Dane, who works at Luna – his response to all of our questions was always, “sure, no problem.” Emma handled all of the planning for the ceremony and did an amazing job. She captured my ideas and made them into something even better than I could have imagined. The rooms are cozy and comfortable – best bed I’ve ever slept in! The linens are amazing and Sandra mentioned that they may be upgrading the linens and towels – I think they are perfect “as is”. That just goes to show how dedicated the staff is to making everyone’s experience at Little Arches spectacular. My only complaint- there was a rather loud wedding reception taking place at Luna and they had music blasting until 11pm. The guests that had attended my wedding reception had early flights the next morning and the noise caused a great disruption. I hope in the future the hotel realizes just because a group rents out their open-air restaurant they should not be permitted to disrupt the stay of the paying hotel guests. That aside, my wedding was a dream and my guests were very pleased with their stay at Little Arches.
