“DIdn't want to leave”

Accra Beach Hotel & Resort

My husband and I chose Barbados and the Accra Beach Hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I was a bit nervous that it would be a dump after reading some previous reviews. It was beautiful. It was perfect for what I was looking for. The room were clean, nice and helpful staff, fabulous pools, perfect beach, fun activities at the hotel, and it was within walking distance of many coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. We stayed for a little over a week. I cried when it was time to leave. Barbados is a beautiful and interesting place and the Accra Beach Hotel was wonderful. I would recommend this for couples and families!!!!!!!

“Best for Honeymoon”

Accra Beach Hotel & Resort

My wife and I had planned our stay at Accra months before our wedding on Easter Sunday. All of our research was done using trip advisor. It was not disappointing at all. We enjoyed ourselves to the point that we did not want to leave. The Deluxe Ocean view suite in the new wing in which we stayed (Room 469) was beautiful. The room was large with king sized bed, pull out bed styled sofa, cleopatra styled rest chair, jacuzzi etc. The accomodation made our honeymooon one that we'll never forget.

The people service was awesome and the food was great. We were even invited to the Manager's tea party on various evenings where we met wonderful people from all over the world. They included a couple name Paul & Samantha from England and a pilot named Scott from Scotland. The ambiance was heartwarming. Everything you needed was right there: restaurants, bars, swimming pools, beach, gym and tour assistance. There was even a mini mall situated across the street where you could shop for clothes & acquire foodstuff and many other eating spots were just a few minutes walk away.

The choice of this hotel was money well spent and I'll advise anyone that you can't go wrong with Accra (especially for a honeymoon). We hope to visit there once agin in the near future.

“Pleased with Accra Hotel”

Accra Beach Hotel & Resort

This is an immaculate hotel, with a good staff and nice grounds. Sure, the computer system goes down from time-to-time, and the service pace is a bit slower, but hey, you’re on the island.

I had a bargain room that overlooked the street. The double-glazed sliders kept noise out at night, and gave a great view onto the city scene. I was amazed at the cleaning routine for each room each day. The housekeeping team whisks the tile-floored rooms to perfection.

The front desk was very helpful in giving driving directions, booking tee times, and otherwise making me feel like a privileged guest.

The lobby bar never opened during my week stay (strange), but the pool bar is bustling and has an insanely cheap happy hour.

I recommend the Accra.

“What a dump”

Accra Beach Hotel & Resort

What a dump.... Ok if your on a corporate jolly, the hotels caters to these (presumerbly they are a good money spiner). Ask for Stacey the duty manager if you have any problems. She will tell you the matter will be sorted by 11pm as thats the time she goes home and it becomes someone elses problem!! The rooms are old and the property is pretty worn. The beach is fantanstic so if thats your thing you might be able to get past the rest of it, but Barbados has plenty of other lovely beaches so you might want to look elsewhere. If you have kids and want to sleep before 11pm avoid this location.

“Fantastic place to stay”

Accra Beach Hotel & Resort

Apr 11, 2008

I have just returned from a cruise and stay holiday. The first part of the holiday involved a 1 week stay at the Accra Beach Hotel & Resort. I chose this hotel mainly because there is an assortment of restaurants and bars closeby. I was however, concerned about some of the comments people had made about the hotel on this web site and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived there. The hotel and beach are fantastic, the views from the room were idyllic, the room was lovely and comfortable, very clean. I found the staff very pleasant and accomodating, a special mention to the boys who give out the towels and place the parasols and sunbeds on the beach, they do this all day and keep on smiling. I really enjoyed the Manager's reception and thought it was a really good idea to get guests and staff together to ask guest's views and opinions about the hotel, this gave guests the opportunity to mention any problems with the rooms, maintenence etc or just to give good feedback. Enjoyed talking to Jonathan, Bernard and James.
I thought the prices for food and drink at the hotel very reasonable, the service good considering the number of guests staying there. There were also lots of other places to eat and drink within walking distance, across from the hotel and on the main road, at the most walked for 10-15 minutes to St Lawrence Gap and got the bus back. I had a great time in Barbados and would stay at the Accra Beach again.
