“Great Casa with fabulous people”

La Casa de Ana

Apr 8, 2008

Myself and my Fiance stayed with Ana and Pepe in December and January. The rooms are basic but more than what you require and in Cuban standards its great! Each room has an en-suite one room bigger than the other. The beds are comfortable however are two singles made into a double, which is rather difficult for a young couple like ourselves if you catch my drift!! hehehe!

The sheets are changed every other day and the room is cleaned thoroughly everyday. Its like staying with a long lost aunty and uncle. Ana and Pepe are so nice and very trust worthy and helpful. However, they make every effort to help you and help their friends by pointing you to people they know for services like taxis, tour guides etc.

Hot water is available but periodically mornings is best!

The atmosphere is wonderful very relaxed and so many tourists coming and going just for Ana and Pepe's help. They are truly nice people. If you don't smoke you may find Cuba difficult as everyone smokes.

Its a good idea to explore food options as the casa's tend to charge around $15-20 per person and you can spend that on a meal for two.

Breakfast at the casa is good, fruit and cooked eggs with ham. However, the bread is sometimes stale due to the heat and the fact they need to ration.

We had a brilliant stay in Havana with Ana and Pepe and I would definitely return.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from Cuba, and we spent time in Ana and Pepe's casa at the start and end of our trip. The room itself is excellent, but what really stood out was how friendly and helpful Ana and Pepe were. They organised brilliant accommodation for us in Santa Clara, Trinidad, Vinales and Playas Del Este, through their 'network'. We were made to feel very welcome by Ana and Pepe, and staying with them was a great way to start and finish our trip to Cuba.

P.S. Pepe's tour of Havana is well worth doing!

Based on the advice I read on this site, I contacted Ana and I am delighted to say that our stay far exceeded my expectations. Treated like friends, Ana and Pepe gave me and my sister practical advice and travel recommendations before and during our stay. Ana also reserved accomodation for us with Casa Basita in Vinales and Casa Diana also in Vedado. All our hosts were kind and caring and cooked us tasty and healthy food. Saying goodbye to Ana and Pepe was like leaving home. We hope to return.

La Casa de Ana is the place to stay if visiting Cuba. The ratings say it all, and the experience of living amongst locals is priceless; something that you could never get from a hotel. Positive reviews from travellers are essential to Ana, therefore she'll do whatever she can to make sure you have a wonderful stay while in her country. So if your planning a trip to Cuba, don't make the mistake of not contacting Ana, you'll regret it!

My wife and I recently spent six nights in La Casa de Ana in Havana, Cuba. We choose La Casa de Ana after researching Havana B&B's on Trip Advisor. We were definitely not disappointed in our accommodations. As I'm sure you will discover after reading a number of the reviews on Las Casa de Ana. It is a wonderful, warm home. Ana and Pepe are great and very helpful. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. There's a fridge and en-suite. The neighbourhood is safe and interesting. We usually left in the morning on foot walking through the neighbourhood to feel and see the sites in Vedado prior to flagging a taxi. Two restaurants that we would recommend are Decameron in Vedado and El Ajibe in Mirimar.
