We went to Curacao for a long weekend, and had a little bit of trouble to find the right Hotel for us, which was in an average price range. Mostly we got the answers, that we couldn't stay at certain hotels, since we were not staying more than 4 nights.
So we found the Landhuis Daniel, and were a bit desperate at that tine already...... Fortuately we got a positive response and a confirmed booking.
We had a rental car, which I recommend for a stay at the Landhuis. It is out of town, out in the countryside, but really worth it.
You can coose between a little room seperated from the main house, or you take a room at the plantation house, in which one of the greatest restaurants I ever ate in is located......
We had a room at the plantation house, with a/c and own small bathroom. It is very cute though, since you don't find this architecture in the Caribbean so much. It was very clean and comfortable.
They have a pool and a nice garden with colorful flowers. They do sell Orchids aswell.
The staff is very nice and very helpful. Since we are Germans living in Trinidad, we bought a lot of food in the supermarkets (since they have European products there). SOme of the stuff needed to be cooled and we were offered to store our things in the restaurants fridge.
The hotels gourmet restaurant has really reasonable prices and, as I already mentioned, the best food I ever ate (except for Italy... But thats a different thing!). And even the "Pannekoeken" for breakfast are fantastic!
We would not only recommend this Hotel to anybody going to Curacao, we would definately come back there, and in fact we just got the confirmation for a long weekend in may....
