Considering it was supposed to be an amazing hotel we were very dissapointed. The first room we were in was very noisy and near an alley way. We eventually got moved to new rooms which were better. The hotel has many trees full of mosquitos so you get bitten to death. The pools were a let down. Instead we ended up taking a shuttle to its sister hotel (takes over 30 minutes!) which was much nicer with private beach and beautiful pool. We wished we had stayed there instead. We chose this hotel so we would be able to walk out into willemstad. We have been to many carribean islands on cruises. We decided to go on holiday to curacao for 2 weeks, we defintely wont be doing it again. Cruises are much better, you get to see the island but dont have to stay longer than a day. 2 weeks was too long, we felt quite intimidated when we went out at night into willemstad. However, we did go swimming with doplhins which had been a life long dream of ours.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in May 2005. We both have traveled extensively and can say that the value and service offered here are on par with the ritziest hotels and spas in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. We prefer to stay in places that have something to offer besides a pretty beach and big buffet - and this is definitely more. The place is gorgeous, the staff is friendly (not in a fake, I-have-to-be-nice-to-you-because-it's-my-job way but sincerely) and attentive, and the restaurants and location are outstanding. We are already looking forward to returning to Kura Hulanda for our 5th wedding anniversary. One thing I will mention is that the hotel does offer a shuttle to a nearby beach, but it's worth it to rent a car and explore other area beaches on your own. I highly recommend Porto Mari, which offers excellent snorkeling and beautiful scenery - plus clean facilities and a good beach-side cafe (burgers, drinks).

My finance is away at college and I'm a full time accountant so we don't get much time together, but whenever we can we like to live it up a bit and take romantic vacations. I found Hotel Kura Hulanda online and it was kinda pricey, but the ambiance looked nice so thought it would be worth it...boy was I so wrong. I booked a suite and when we got there they put us in a standard room. It was upgraded the next day, but the upgrade had no windows except for a tiny one in the bathroom. There were no towels at all and the room just wasn't quite ready for us. The bath robes were soiled and dirty and the TV never worked. The service was the pits. Worse Ive ever experienced. Out of the four nights we stayed there our room was only cleaned once, the only friendly staff there was the bell boy. The staff at the front desk wasn't friendly at all especially when we went to voice our complaints they just brushed us off. For $260.00 a night it really wasn't worth it. We could have stayed at the Holiday Inn for half the price or the Hilton for the same price and I'm sure we would have had a way better experience.

An amazing hotel with magnificent ambience. Can't wait to return.
