My partner and I went to The Paradise Beach Hotel and Casino in Feb 2008 and we found it to be Great .Room was basic but very clean. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help ! Hotel was an amazing building very colonial looking !! Staff were always painting, repairing or touching up and cleaning.The food in the buffet was FAB loads of choice.The beach was amazing and we booked excursions with John on the beach which were great !!If going on the jeep safari take insect repellant as we got bitten by ticks in the mountain villages ! Weather was truly wonderful and beware the sun is fierce.If you go whale watching take your travel sickness tablets first .....I did'nt and threw up but we did see whales !!! All in all the stay here was FAB and don't know why people complain.....guess some people are just too fussy,go and have a great time, you will LOVE it !!

We book this hotel because it was close to the airport and the beach. After reading the other reviews we were alittle afraid but it was not like most people said. The people at the resort were friendly and always helpful. The food was wonderful, if you could not find something you liked to eat you should of stayed home. There was a large selection and if varried from day to day. The rooms were clean and beach was beautiful. The only problem we had was the rudeness of many of the people from the other Canadian country. The beach was the best one of all of Playa Dora. We would have no problems returning to this hotel.

This was my Fourth Stay to Paridise and i have to say I Have a Great Time everytime I am there. I think Your Stay Is what you Make it and This is a Third World Country we can only expect what the have to offer. The way it works There is If you Are good To the Staff they are great with you Please and Thankyou go a long way.
Food I am a picky Eater and always found somthing i liked and Pizza hut is great too.

Beach the best part it is huge comared to the others by far and the pool is also nice if you are not a big beach person.

Rooms well they are a little run down but hey i am only there to sleep and shower does not bother me

Entertainment and staff They are the niced people you will ever meet. if you go make sure to hang with sexy Blackie and Otto they are so much fun had a blast with them.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 weeks and I would not recommend it if this is your only time going to theDominican.

I thought we had got a good deal but on coming home and speaking to other people who had went to different hotels I would def say spend a bit extra and go elsewhere.
Our first room we had was an upgrade but we actually asked to move. I have never done this before but considering the room and beds were crawling with ants I would say I'm justified. All the rooms smelt musty also.

We met a few couple who also had negative things to report- honeymooners were not given what they said they would be, etc.

Avoid the Italian restaurant, the smell is something else!!

Also the staff aren't the greaterst, well only if you tip they are!! If you want decent glasses tip at the start of the night and the man will at the beach bar will be good to you otherwise you get plastic. I'm not bothered that it was plastic but if you see how they wash the glasses then see some of the sores people have had then always use a straw!!

The housekeeping staff work so hard and are def worth tipping!!

Also a few people had things stolen out of their rooms so be careful, even clothes were taken!!!

If you are looking for a cheap holiday and you are not fussed on having a lot for your money then fine otherwise look elsewhere!

For an all inclusive holiday we spent an awful lot of money eating out as the choice on offer is ok but not great. Choose somewhere with ,ore restaurants/pubs etc!!

Also beware as gets very busy at weekends with dominicans. Watch if you are female, I kept on getting hassle from some of the locals when I was lying at the pool. Funny at first but wouldn't take no for an answer!
