This was my 3rd visit to this resort, I Love It. The staff is great, the food is good. I have read some bad reviews on the resort, but you must remember it is a 3 star resort not a 5 star.
I can assure you that the food is good and plenty of it from 7am breakfast until 2am by the adult pool. There are 3 swimming pools, one in the main area (where all the activities are all day), one beside the Calypso Restaurant (the adult pool) and one beside the Brazilian Restaurant is for the kids.
The bar beside the adult pool is open 24 hours so you can drink your face of if that is your wish. Our Signature Vacation/ First Choice rep was so helpful, her name is Max she is from Toronto Canada as I am.
Some people complained that the shows in the evening were crap, remember they are all armatures and try their best, if you want shows go to Las Vegas and pay through the nose
If you do not like a buffet meal you can always go to the 2 A la carte restaurants Italian or Brazilian.
The beach bar has some great food all day, you have to take a shuttle that is provided to the beach it runs back and forth all day long about a 5 minute rides or you can walk if you want.
The Fun Royale/Fun Tropicale resort is located 20 minutes from the airport in a complex called Playa Dorada, which has 14 resorts, and is the largest all inclusive complex in the world. This complex is very secure so if you want to go for a walk there should be no problems.

great holiday, great food, great entertainment, great rooms, great beach what more can i say, went will partner and four boys, they absolutely loved it , they were entertained all day long, no problems besides mosquitos, but no problems from the hotel, i would recommend anyone to go to this hotel, the staff are fantastic. marie from liverpool

I found this resort to be very run down. The food was horible. The drinks were some of the worst I have ever had the displeasure of consuming. The staff was very unprofessional. Overall if this is the only place you can travel to, your better off to stay at home and go to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Fun Royale and had a nice, relaxing holiday with our 3 young children. The rooms are basic but the maids keep them very clean with fresh towels and sheets daily.The family pool area is immaculate and well cared for and very safe for the children to play in. There are plenty of sunbeds but not enough umbrellas for shade from the extremely hot sun. Staff were kind and friendly and when our air con unit leaked on some clothes, they laundered them for us free of charge. The Animation entertainment team are fantastic and so hard working. The food was OK and there was always plenty of it. My only criticisms are the bugs in the rooms (we were fumigated once), no ice cream for the children and the amount of people with upset stomachs, including all of us. One thing I would advise is to take plenty of diahorrea tablets and rehydration fluids and to use SPF50 on children's faces and shoulders. Every child there had sunburn (and a lot of adults). All in all we enjoyed it there. It is perfect for families and anyone wanting to relax and do not a lot!
