The hotel itself is impressive in decor and spotless. Beautiful grounds, big pool, gorgeous beach with canopy beds waterside.

Our room was nice, and a bottle of rum, cigars and basket of fresh fruit were there upon arrival.

Maids were very efficient. Small fridge was stocked with Sprite, Coke, beer, and two large water bottles.

Beach towels were included, so you did not to bring any.

On to the restaurants- You need to make reservations, and can make as many as 3 ahead of time.
Tried the Fondue place. Atmosphere was nice an intimate. The food was fair, and it took 2-21/2 hours to finish, due to the long waits for the fondue.
Regular drinks are included. We decided to pay for two bottles of wine. While the meal is all included, we left a 20- (US) tip on a 90-tab for the wine. This was met with a rather displeased look by the manager, as if it wasn't enough. That turned me off to the restaurant for the rest of our stay. a 20% tip is generous, especially when tipping is not necessary in an all-inclusive.

The Italian restaurant was excellent! The carpaccio, bruschetta, and Tartalle pasta were all delicious. Dessert was delightful, and the cappucino was wonderful.

The buffet changes nightly and provides salads, breads, and themed nights for food. A lot of the food was of the greasy type.Pastas can be made to order. The breakfast buffet was quite good with fresh juices, fruits, yogurts, crepes, waffles, ham, bacon, and omelets and eggs made to order.

The Mare Nostrum is open 24/7, and the bar next to it as well. The food is ok and standard: appetizers, salads, burgers, fries, pizza, and you can make a panini.

BEWARE! You DO need BUG SPRAY! The mosquitos at night can be awful!

For great meals, at an additional price, book La Cava and El Pescador at the sister hotel. They are 25- and 32- per person, but well worth it.
THE ONLY PROBLEM is getting a shuttle from one hotel to the next. We waited for 45 minutes! This happened frequently, and was quite annoying, as we kept being told "15 minutes".

The Disco "Arrieta" was a lot of fun. Opens at 11 p.m., and you drink free until midnight.

Tower Casino was okay, ask for coupons before you go, to double your bet, or play 10- free.

The shops downtown are sketchy. The shops in our hotel are OK. The Caribe had nicer shops.

The sting ray and swim with sharks was worth every penny. BUT make sure you eat a good meal and bring snacks. They push the 151 rum, and Mamajawna. You can get drunk real easy. I would also bring your own snorkeling, as they do not clean it well.
It was a nice trip, great with a bunch of friends.

“Paradise found, what an escape!!!”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

Where do I even begin? My wife and are stayed at the Princess from May 7 to May 14th. Prior to selecting a destination and hotel to match, we both spent a great amount of time on tripadvisor reading about various hotels. We are in our mid twenties and were looking to celebrate our 5 year wedding aniversary.

This will be very detailed because I want people to know exactly what they are and are NOT getting by staying here.

ARRIVAL:

Seemless plane flight and the open air airport is magnificant. The scariest part of our trip was the 40 minutes it took to get to our hotel from the airport. The drivers in the Domincian Republic have no rules or regulations and everyone it seems can drive without much experience or caution. You must simply tell the driver to slow down and he will.

CHECK IN:

Seemless once again. From the minute you step into the lobby, it becomes all about you. While completing entry paperwork, the bartender comes over and gives you your first alcoholic drink (just a sample of the week to come). We were in the 5000 building, directly by the pool and closest to the beach, just like we asked. They will transport you via golf cart to your room with your belongings.

ROOM: We had a platinum room, which most are. This includes a King bed and there is a lower area that has the television and a large sofa couch. Very comfortable all week long. Each day there is a turn down service and they restock your mini bar daily with beer, sprite and coca cola bottles. You also get (3) cigars and (1) bottle of rum per stay. Couldn't have been happier with the room and the daily clean up, etc.

FOOD:

2.5 out of 5. This was the only problem and trust me, my wife and I are the least picky people (too often people think everything has to be perfect). We loved the Tex Mex Steakhouse and the Fondu place. Not recommended is the Italian and the buffett gets old. Best, very best place is next door at El Pescatore seafood. $25 per person, however, you would pay out your rear end for a dinner like that here in the states. Overall, food wasn't why we were there.

DRINKS:

Great all week long and the staff makes sure you are never without one. Enough said. They will give you premium if you ask, however, the other stuff was fine. Best drinks are as follows: Coco Loco, Tropical Princess, Dirty Banana and Mamosa. Sounds crazy, but the best bar is in the lobby. The lobby is beautiful and our favorite bartenders all week were Daniella, Ingred and Emelio. They all made our vacation extra special.

GROUNDS:

Immaculate and you will never walk the grounds without seeing 20 workers keeping it beautiful.

NIGHT LIFE:

The resort dies after 10 PM. This was what we wanted, however, if you are looking for a party, go somewhere else.

SERVICE:

Here was the difference. Everyone is there to please you. Tips are so greatly appreciated as they only make roughly $7 US dollars each day. Look to give to others, not just bartenders. We suprised the grounds workers and maids who were just so thankful. For our Saturday, May 10 anniversary, they set us up on the beach for a private dinner with a full 5 course meal and our own waiter. I can't tell you how special this was, and all we did was tell them we were there for our anniversary.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

We met some wonderful people (Andy, Eric, Bonnie, Justine) We were so sad to have to leave and will be coming back to the Princess on a yearly basis.

Sorry for the long drawn out review, however, these reviews helped us greatly and we wanted to do the same. Please view our pictures and enjoy your stay at the Princess. It was a wonderful trip.

Also, Saona Island is a wonderful full day excursion for about $93 per person. Words simply can't do this place justice.

Oh yea, never once an issue finding beach beds and we never saw a single bug or mosquito on our trip. The beach is immalculate also and raked daily. The resort and entire length of beach is perfectly safe. Always barter for prices that people ask. Start at 1/3 of the asking price and work your way up. It works every time.

The wife and I stayed at the PCP for 8 nights from 5-2 through 5-10. We had a blast. Grounds were beautiful and always clean and kept up. Food was pretty good and we ate at both the buffet and the ala cartes both here and next door at the Caribe. I liked the Tex Mex the best. The staff was very friendly and always tried their best to help you. I can't say enough about the beach, it is truely amazing. We met some really great people while we we here, especially 3 sisters and their two friends from Illinois, had a blast with them. We went on 2 excursions while we were here. 1 we went on dunebuggys and went to a cave and saw how chocolate and coffee were made and then to the beach. We had a blast. The 2nd was to Saona Island. I recommend both of these trips.

“Can't get much better.”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

My wife and I are in our 50's and have been to the Islands several times. We just returned from the Punta Cana Princess and rate it as one of the best we have stayed at. We stayed at Sandals in Antigua a few years ago and we weren't as impressed as we were with the Princess. We read some bad reviews about the resort, but after staying there we just don't agree.
The staff is what makes the difference. They are hard working, friendly and go out of their way to please the guests. The food was plentiful and good. The grounds are the best we have ever seen. The beach is cleaned twice a day.
Don't get me wrong, there were monor problems but nothing to spoil a great vacation. I found we have more complaints regarding some of the guests. We witnessed some of the guests treated the staff like dogs, yelling at them and complaining they didn't speak english, (dah your in their country.) We saw another guest fill a dirty water bottle with juice at the buffet and another walking around the buffet with their fork picking at the food as she went along.
In other reviews people complained about the mosquitoes. We found this to be false. If you want to fight a war with mosquitoes come to Ocean county in New Jersey and hang out at dusk on a humid July night.
We would highly recommend the Punta Cana Princess to anyone who want to have a great vacation.

Just return last night May 8, 08, from a 6 day stay here and overall it was an excellent break. If you want to relax just lay by the pool or on the beach this is the place, if you want to party and all that try another resort. They do have exchange privileges with some of their other properties that have a casino and disco, so you can always go there to get your party on.

Food
Average, it will get you through.
