we stayed here for the 1st 2 weeks of feb 2007..the location was fantastic..bang in the middle of grand anse beach and right next door to the coyaba resort..the allamanda has clean average rooms in a safe environment but the resort is getting a bit tired(it survived the 2004 hurricane.)whereas the coyoba next door is completely renovated..we stayed room only and had breakfast next door paying 10 us dollars for continental....if you want good value with the ability to use other hotels and restaurants locally then its a great place...the flamboyant further down the beach is really high up a steep hill whereas the allamanda is on the flat..right in the middle..much better location..over all we had a great time in grenada..this is our 7th caribbean island and a great place to visit..easy to get around..lovely food...but you may want to take an umbrella! it rains everyday but only for 15 minutes!

“Two days of rest.”

We stayed here for two nights after sailing for five weeks.
We were slightly concerned about the comment of the park as we overlooked it.
Perhaps it was a quiet period, but the ONLY noise we ever heard was someone closing their room door at 10pm. If only all hotels were that quiet!
The room was basic but clean. A table and two chairs in the room and patio furniture outside.
Grand Anse beach is wonderful.

We traveled to Grenada the first week of August, 2006 with our three children ages 17, 14, 10. Stayed at the Allamanda in their two bedroom suite. We had two large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lr and ktcn. Outstanding staff, really went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. Cannot say enough about manager Mr. Mughabi (SP?) Only downfall to accommodations is that it is adjacent to a public park and the noise/crowd at night can be annoying. Beach was outstanding and being August and out of season, relatively quiet. We met many locals swimming there and all were very friendly....many children wanting to play with our youngest child. Peddlers were aplenty but respectful. Recommend seeing Concord Falls, we had the place to ourselves!, Acquarium, be sure to be dressed appropriately and not wet when wanting to eat! Beach and snorkeling very nice there. Morne Rouge Bay is worth a half day visit. Fish Friday was a scary ride north but definately worth the ride. Our 17 year old said it was the best part of the trip! First Impressions did a very nice catamaran ride up the coast with two stops for snorkeling and lunch....a great day trip and terrific crew. Indigo car rentals were very accomodating...we had a flat tire (fortunately at the hotel and not some back, deserted road) and they repaired it within the hour. St Georges was interesting with historical aspects, markets, etc.... very crowded, though. Overall, a very nice family vacation. We felt very safe and the people of Grenada are what made the vacation outstanding. Not to mention the rum selection!

“Very friendly and courteous staff”

What makes this hotel special is the friendliness of everyone who works there. That includes the receptionists, the restaurant staff, the owner/manager and just about everybody else. The owner even gave me a lift in his own car on one occasion! If I had to pick out one person for special praise, it would be Denise at reception - she is a treasure.

My room was large, the air-conditioning worked splendidly (and wasn't too noisy), and the bathroom was very well designed. All in all, excellent value for money - particularly after 15th April when the prices go down. The hotel is right on Grand Anse Beach and there is also a more than adequate pool with plenty of sun loungers around it.

One thing that did surprise me, though, was that there were so few people staying at the hotel - I sometimes felt as if I was the only guest. People need to know that Grenada is definitely open for business again after hurricanes Ivan and Emily.

Finally, I ought to point out that the on-site restaurant is independent of the hotel itself and that there is also another very good restaurant, La Belle Creole, within walking distance.

“Peferectly managed, friendly hotel directly at the beach”

We stayed 4 nights at the Allamanda. Big rooms, comfortably equipped with TV, Refrigerator, balcony, tub, AC. Reasonable prices 98 USD +18%. Not a luxury place but everything is there, in a most friendly and professional surrounding. The independant restaurant on the premesis is terrible. But there are nice places in short walking distance.
