“Fantastic holiday!”

Coyaba Beach Resort

Mar 14, 2008

My husband and I stayed at Coyaba from 3-12 March and could not have asked for a better location. The whole experience, from being greeted at the airport, to our welcome at the reception desk (and a rum punch) and the entire stay was amazing throughout.

Don't bother leaving the resort for meals - breakfasts were varied and delicious, lunch at Docks was fantastic (the mahi mahi, and jerk pork wrap in particular). The evening meals at The Vineyard surpassed all our expectations - menu choices changed every evening and the food served was of a very high standard (equivalent to or even better than any of the top restaurants in London).

We had opted for a garden suite and the room was spacious, air con worked wonders in the afternoons especially after a long day in the sun.

The bar staff were very friendly and more than willing to serve cocktails throughout the day.

Overall I would rate Coyaba as excellent. Its boutique style size (only 50 rooms) means that the service is more personal, the beach isn't overrun by fellow tourists and it feels exclusive. The staff are what make this a wonderful place to enjoy a holiday - they were incredibly friendly at all times. We will definitely be returning!

“Coyaba truly is a slice of heaven”

Coyaba Beach Resort

Mar 9, 2008

I booked a 3 night 4 day trip at Coyaba for me and my wife as a last minute yahoo package deal. We've been to Jamaica two times in the past but only for day stops on a cruise. We reserved an ocean deluxe room and when we checked in were offered a junior ocean suite for 30 dollars extra a night. We saw both rooms and quickly upgraded to what seemed like the best room in the resort. Absolutely stunning view of the blue lagoon and ocean from the balcony of our huge room. We chose not to get the all inclusive package because we had planned to go do several things away from the resort and didn't think we would be taking advantage of all the meals included. We did eat at two of the three restaurants at Coyaba and enjoyed the food very much but felt it was quite expensive, but maybe would've been worth the all inclusive price had we stayed in each day. We took a kayak which is free, down the beach to the Sandals resort and was amazed at how much it looked like a hotel with a crowded public beach. Coyaba has it's own private tranquil beach to make you feel as if you own the joint and have a few friends staying with you. I went snorkeling for free by myself and was taken out to the best area of reef by one of the Coyaba staff members in the resort's motor boat. My wife got a massage on the pier over looking the blue sea. The staff was unbelievably nice and everyone you saw greeted you with smiles. Even our room stewards, Hycanith and Dahlia made up our room each day with special care to make you feel they loved their jobs. Scott Robins manages the resort and went out of his way to meet everyone and make you feel welcome. We've been to several resorts and timeshares and rate Coyaba beach resort Montego Bay as our favorite. This resort is truly worth the price for the exclusive experience you will never forget.

“Not so great”

I stayed here with my two year old daughter and husband. On the first night we were placed on the second floor in a small room which had a disco going on right beside it. We told reception that we had booked a garden suite and had therefore obviously requested a ground floor room. We also complained about the noise which went on till beyond 1am. The hotel pretended as if they had never had such noise before even though it was close to a regular disco spot! The next day we complained again because the hotel had down graded us. We were told there was no chance of being moved. We asked them to arrange another hotel for us and surprisingly a few moments later they gave us the best room in the hotel!
The rest of the week went relatively smoothly until a member of the hotel staff stole our Ipod whilst we were on one of their arranged water trips. They told us that it was probably the kids of the rich American family who were staying next door to us. By the way their kids were 6 and 4! Then on the last two nights there was a big private function which had a loud band so there was no peace in the whole resort until 11pm! And by the way the karaoke was dereadful - bunch of screaming 50 year olds.
The food was good although service can be poor at times. I was surprised that the resort did not live up to the reviews other travellers had given it although the location of the hotel was lovely.

“Something for all of us”

My 80+ year old mother and sister always went to FL but decided this year that we should go to 'an island'. Selecting the best place to take my sister who has never been out of the states and my mother was my challenge. Not wanting to be too adventurous, I selected Jamaica as I had been there before and because it is English speaking.

Was easy to rule out the 'couples' and 'families' resorts, so Coyaba, classified as a 'boutique' turned out to be an excellent choice. The guests consisted of a nice mix - business/pleasure, old and young. The small size made it comfortable for my mother and sister, yet it offered most everything found at larger resorts. Early morning at the gym and tennis in the afternoon. (The tennis pros are rotated weekly. Jeff from Toledo, OH was terrific!) My mother even enjoyed the spa services.

The food was tremendous! Whether it was breakfast or dinner, there was a nice choice to choose from and the presentation was excellent. All of the staff (wait, service) were extremely pleasant. The rooms and grounds were well maintained - the beach was raked of seagrass throughout the day!

Anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing location, try Coyaba Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

My wife and I stayed at Coyaba from 01/27/08 for 6 nights. We could not have had a better time. We were there for wifes birthday and all the staff went out of there way to make it special. The cake was just what i had ordered for her. The room was very nice and clean and the meals where perfect. Could not ask for more. Thanks Again Coyaba.
