My wife and I honeymooned at Sandals MoBay in Aug. of '05, and it was far and away the best trip we've ever taken.

I would like to preface my review by saying that anyone who rates this resort less than a four is just plain nit-picking.
Sandals MoBay offers the perfect mixture of everything.
While most resorts try to compartmentalize themselves as a "romantic getaway", "for active couples", or the classic "get away and relax" type of resort, Sandals offers the whole package. The resort covers a tons of ground (somewhere around 50 acres), so no matter what mood you're in the resort can accomodate you: beach volleyball, tennis, wind-surfing, hobie-catamaran rides, scuba, snorkling, lounging, napping, shuffle-board, beach-chess, dancing, swimming, the list is endless- and its all on one resort.

The resturants are top-notch, the rooms are clean and accomodating, the staff is friendly and interactive, there are tons of planned activities, but no pressure to participate (although I would encourage it. The more activities you take part in the more "points" you earn, which result in fun little prizes. We did a bunch of stuff and earned some cool necklaces with little sandals on them, a bottle of Rum, and a personalized Sandals t-shirt signed by the staff...just for having fun!).

The one thing that we were apprehensive about heading into the trip- being so close to the airport, ended up being a non-factor; the staff makes the best of it, telling you to wave at the poor unlucky souls who are leaving paradise everytime a plane flies over (which wasn't really as often as you would think) and it became a type of game.

Sure enough as we took-off when it was our turn to leave Paradise the first thing we thought of was our fellow "Sandal-ites" waving to us from the beach below.

Even as a grown man its hard not to cry as you leave Jamaica, specifically if you're leaving Sandals Montego Bay.

“Loved the Hostess / Hostess @ OK Corral - The Orleander”

There are a few in particular that went ABOVE and BEYOND the call of duty to make us comfortable and satisfied. These people were: Tedroy, Nadine Earla, Jeffrey Kerr, NickRoy (who worked in the BaySide, the Orleander and the OK Corral restuarants) and Ishka (who worked with the Excursion Desk). They truly had an extremely pleasant demeanor and FASCINATING outgoing nature about them. ALL OF THE ABOVE PEOPLE were ABSOLUTELY terrific. I cannot say enough about all four of them!!!! If they are not already in the process of being promoted, they should be!! Each one of them catered to myself and my guess, like no one else mattered. That is how all guests should feel when they are on vacation!! I LOVE THEM, I LOVE THEM, I LOVE THEM!!!!!

My husband and I went to Montego Bay for our 10 year anniversary to renew our vows.....it was so much more than we expected. The food and drinks were excellent, the concierge service was outstanding, and everything was so beautiful. Everyone was just so friendly. There was always something to do, we loved the playmakers!!!!!!! We definitely plan on returning. We would recommend this to anyone; we also recommend the Jamaican Smile drink!

“Relaxing, beautiful vacation”

We just got back from our trip to Sandals Montego Bay. The hotel was really nice, the staff was friendly, and the whole experience was a lot of fun.

The best things about the resort -
Scenery - the gardins are very well kept and the beach is immaculate
Staff - everybody really does try to make sure you have a great time.
Entertainment - there is a lot to do! We were there for 6 days (although we got married there so much our time was taken up with that) and barely scratched the surface. You really do get a lot for your money if you take advantage of all they have to offer.
All-Inclusive - it really is all inclusive. It was nice because as long as I stayed on the resort, I didn't need to take my purse/wallet with me because everything is taken care of.

The worst things about the resort -
THE PLANES!! - This is my biggest complaint. They really are very loud and they fly over often. However, everything else was so nice that I wouldn't let that deter me from going back again.
Food - Some of the food was good, some was bad, but most was mediocre at best. If you're a real foodie than this probably isn't the place for you. At dinner, the presentation of the food is pretty impressive. The breakfast buffet leaves much to be desired.
Drinks - the drinks are pretty much ineffective. I drank several in a row on a few different days and I felt nothing. I'm a pretty small girl and usually a lightweight. If you actually want to relax and get a buzz, order the beer or wine.

All in all, it was a great vacation. We really had a good time and plan to go back.

“loved jamaica, not the tourists”

Sandals snorkeling trips were lead by a man named Clive. Clive was the best tour guide I could have wanted. He showed us marine life and talked informatively about the reef. We loved Clive and the snorkeling trips! I would highly suggest these trips to anyone. Now that I have the good part out of the way...

My wife and I just spent a week on the SMB campus for our honeymoon. At first we were very excited about the quality of food, the friendliness of our hotel staff and the free drinks. This wears off within a couple of days. We came to the realization that the food was not all that good, the staff was not all that nice and the drinks were still free.

We had a concierge room and we were very excited to utilize this service. The concierge was able to schedule our dinner reservations without too much difficulty, but when we asked them to schedule outings they completely were unable to do this for us. We scheduled 4 outings (ex. scuba, river tubing, Dunn's River Falls, etc) and on all 4 occassions the concierge stated that we could not take the trip when we would have wanted. Upon this news I would go down to the trips desk and schedule my own trips without difficulty. Pretty much we paid extra to have someone make dinner reservations for us and nothing else.

Also upon departure we wanted to take an earlier airport shuttle. I told the front desk, the taxi stand and the concierge service about this request an hour before hand The Sandals bus people never went to my room to gather our bags and we ended up missing the shuttle we wanted while I had to go drag my own bags down from our room!
