My wife and I honeymooned at Sandals MoBay in Aug. of '05, and it was far and away the best trip we've ever taken.
I would like to preface my review by saying that anyone who rates this resort less than a four is just plain nit-picking.
Sandals MoBay offers the perfect mixture of everything.
While most resorts try to compartmentalize themselves as a "romantic getaway", "for active couples", or the classic "get away and relax" type of resort, Sandals offers the whole package. The resort covers a tons of ground (somewhere around 50 acres), so no matter what mood you're in the resort can accomodate you: beach volleyball, tennis, wind-surfing, hobie-catamaran rides, scuba, snorkling, lounging, napping, shuffle-board, beach-chess, dancing, swimming, the list is endless- and its all on one resort.
The resturants are top-notch, the rooms are clean and accomodating, the staff is friendly and interactive, there are tons of planned activities, but no pressure to participate (although I would encourage it. The more activities you take part in the more "points" you earn, which result in fun little prizes. We did a bunch of stuff and earned some cool necklaces with little sandals on them, a bottle of Rum, and a personalized Sandals t-shirt signed by the staff...just for having fun!).
The one thing that we were apprehensive about heading into the trip- being so close to the airport, ended up being a non-factor; the staff makes the best of it, telling you to wave at the poor unlucky souls who are leaving paradise everytime a plane flies over (which wasn't really as often as you would think) and it became a type of game.
Sure enough as we took-off when it was our turn to leave Paradise the first thing we thought of was our fellow "Sandal-ites" waving to us from the beach below.
Even as a grown man its hard not to cry as you leave Jamaica, specifically if you're leaving Sandals Montego Bay.
