We had originally booked for 3 days at Goldeneye for our honeymoon and were planning to spend the following 3 at the Ritz Carlton in Montego Bay.After arriving at Goldeneye, we immediately got on the phone and called our travel agent to cancel 2 of our days at the Ritz. This place is unbelievable, it's like living in the garden of eden and the service was unmatched. We were in the smallest villa, HoneyChile, but it was so romantic and the ocean view from our terrace was stunning. It takes a lot of effort to be this effortless-Goldeneye manages to maintain a sense of privacy while always being available and you feel like you are completely alone- I can understand why this place is a draw for celebrities. The decor is colorful without being loud and the food was great too, a variety of courses in each meal, while there was an option to eat in your room or on the beautiful dining terrace-the soups in the evening were particularly wonderful.Ours was the only villa to not have a plasma TV on the wall, but we didn't care, there's something about the place that completely sweeps you away, and they do their part to make things as romantic as possible- little touches like lighting the entire area at night with citronella candles and torches, not light bulbs staked in the ground like at the Ritz.In our room, there was an autograph book where guests would write what they're feeling, and people were actually penning poems to this place- that's how transforming it is.We were told that Jim Carrey once stayed in our villa and was supposed to leave Goldeneye and spend the rest of his vacation in Cuba- apparantly, he left for one day, met Fidel Castro, and immediately ditched the rest of his time there to return to Goldeneye. If you have the money, this place is well worth it- you could be in a broom closet here and be happy here!!

“Goldeneye was fabulous!”

Recently my boyfriend and I stayed at Goldeneye. We had booked the 1 bedroom bungalow, but by a fluke we were put in the 3 bedroom main house and had it all to ourselves. Being able to sit at the writing desk where Ian Fleming penned many of his James Bond novels with the fans whirring overhead was a thrill all by itself, not to mention the enormous king bed in the master bedroom swatched in billows of cloud-like mosquito netting, the outdoor bathroom complete with giant banana leaves, oversize shower and bath filled with tranquil bathsalts, the view of the sea through the open windows and doors, and the amazing, romantic setting on a bluff overlooking the sea. We played groovy music (the speakers pipe the music all over the property), stared in a zen like state at the yin and yang fountain in the beautiful fish and lily pond, frolicked down to "our" private beach and explored the little grottoes and enjoyed the private kayaks. The food was amazingly good and the staff relaxed and helpful. The bar was fully stocked and we enjoyed snacks in the entertainment bungalow while watching our own private screenings of James Bond movies. At night the staff sneaked in (we never saw them) to light candles all over the beautiful gardens and we had a candlelit/moonlit swim in the private pool. Truly an experience we will never forget.

My wife and I stayed at Goldeneye for our honeymoon and had the ABSOLUTE BEST TIME! The people, the food, the rooms and views were all fabulous. We dined on the PRIVATE BEACH, did a tour along the coast on the jet skis and, best of all, relaxed. This was one of the most romantic places that I have ever visited and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone planning a special getaway. Outdoor showers - not of the Grizzly Adams or MASH variety - were romantic. Candlelight baths in the claw foot tub were very, very nice. All of the bungalows are gorgeous.
Villa One will always have a special place in our hearts. Visit the site and see some of the photos. I can't say enough good things about the place.

We stayed at Goldeneye for our honeymoon (9/8/03-9/13/03) We were completely overwhelmed when we arrived for our stay. This is the most beautiful place that I have ever been to. The rooms were incredible, and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. There is nothing that I could write that could do Goldeneye justice. I can say that we will without a doubt be going back as soon as we can.
