We had originally booked for 3 days at Goldeneye for our honeymoon and were planning to spend the following 3 at the Ritz Carlton in Montego Bay.After arriving at Goldeneye, we immediately got on the phone and called our travel agent to cancel 2 of our days at the Ritz. This place is unbelievable, it's like living in the garden of eden and the service was unmatched. We were in the smallest villa, HoneyChile, but it was so romantic and the ocean view from our terrace was stunning. It takes a lot of effort to be this effortless-Goldeneye manages to maintain a sense of privacy while always being available and you feel like you are completely alone- I can understand why this place is a draw for celebrities. The decor is colorful without being loud and the food was great too, a variety of courses in each meal, while there was an option to eat in your room or on the beautiful dining terrace-the soups in the evening were particularly wonderful.Ours was the only villa to not have a plasma TV on the wall, but we didn't care, there's something about the place that completely sweeps you away, and they do their part to make things as romantic as possible- little touches like lighting the entire area at night with citronella candles and torches, not light bulbs staked in the ground like at the Ritz.In our room, there was an autograph book where guests would write what they're feeling, and people were actually penning poems to this place- that's how transforming it is.We were told that Jim Carrey once stayed in our villa and was supposed to leave Goldeneye and spend the rest of his vacation in Cuba- apparantly, he left for one day, met Fidel Castro, and immediately ditched the rest of his time there to return to Goldeneye. If you have the money, this place is well worth it- you could be in a broom closet here and be happy here!!
