What a wonderful week. I would definately stay there again. there were a few bumps along the way but the staff more than made up for it. To begin there was no car for us at the airport and we had to share a car with another couple. It was fine. We booked the deluxce oceanfront room. When we saw it we were not too pleased. It seemed a bit dated and the shower did not have a shower head. We asked if we could upgrade and much to our surprise they upgeade us to the govenor general's suite which was available...for free, It was amazing. The seervice was uncomplarable. They went above and beyond all the time. We did not do the meal plan and I think we actually saved money that way. The tours and the cab company they used were also great. We never had to find a cab for the return ride....the driveer always waited for us. I had a spa treament and it was one of the best massages I ever had. The food was good at all the restaurants. This resort was great for a relaxing vacation. We met alot of great couples and looked forward to nightly drinks and talks on the porch. It was great fun.
I would highly recommend this resort. If you find there is something you are not happy with and you let them know in a pleasant way they really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. I loved it and I hope to return again one day!

The private ride to the hotel is really appreciated after the journey. Check in is a breeze, and the service is wonderful. Our room was a luxury suite on the corner and it was very nice, plenty of room and a stocked bar with top shelf liquor. Our bed was very comfortable. We did miss a balcony, but that was a minor inconvenience. It's very relaxing, they did have entertainment nightly, piano bar some nights and bands other nights on the terrace. I have to say again that the service is top notch, especially had fun with Murphy at the beach bar, but everyone was great. The beach service is excellent and the food was good. We've travelled extensively in the caribbean and like nice hotels and this is one we will return to. One other note, if you like golf, and we do, the course was very good. Had some challenging holes and was in very nice shape.

My fiance and I stayed here for a week from 4/5/08 to 4/12/08. Our experience here was great and plan on returning in the future. Our trip began with our own driver picking us up and taking us to the resort. He was great, very courteous, extremely knowledgable, and best of all he had chilled Red Stripe waiting for me:)
We stayed in a great suite, #302 overlooking the water on the third floor. If you go all inclusive which we did, learn your room number fast because that's how everyone first gets to know you and how they know whether to charge you or not. The staff is second to none. These guys will go out of there way to insure you leave with the best service and experience possible.
I was a little aprehensive at first with the Restaurants but was blown off my feet by the variety. Be sure to look out for a BBQ that is done on Monday's I believe. Everything from shrimp, steak, lobster, to a dessert room that rivaled nothing I've seen before.
The water sports were another great feature of the resort. My fiance and I didn't really want to learn how to navigate a hobbycat so we had Dwight take us out for a nice long sail. There are no times that I know of for snorkeling. When you want to go, you go. Dwight took us out snorkeling by our selves and for a great boat ride to see some of the coast. These guys will make sure you have a good time, period.
Overall our experience was great. I can't wait to get back to this place for some more serious relaxation. I'm assuming management or employees read these from time to time so from Brian and Emily, thank you very much for a great vacation. See you guys soon:)

Having read about 150 reviews on Trip Advisor ... to calm my nerves about a hotel owned and run by Sandalls group..... I am delighted to say I have just returned from a truely amazing and memorable 6 days at The Royal Plantation.
As you arrive in the beautifully manicured gardens and then walk into the Old Plantation houses' wide open hallway with a stunning view of the turquiose sea beyond you immediatley realise that the long flight and tedious 2hour journey from the airport were a small price to pay to arrive in paradise.
The staff at the hotel are all so friendly attentive and helpful. A wonderful location can be spoilt without a geat team... and they have a great team. Waking at 5.30am every morning with my girlfriend to watch the sunrise ... the staff would then accomodate us and serve us breakfast on the beach. Being a small hotel....about 75 rooms... all the food is freshly prepared and cooked to order... we did not have one bad meal in 6 days... all the food was of excellent quality and beautifully prepared.
We opted for the Royal plan and as you will read in other reviews
it is possible that one could make a small saving paying as you go but it was lovely eating to abandon without once ever bothering to look at a price on the menu and just added to the experience of a stress free holiday.... and I say this as someone who only drinks water. It really was lovely checking out of the hotel with an effective zero balance and no endless list of extras to have to check...My only reservation and in the greater scale of things of small relevence... was that with such an amazing setting the night time lighting in the hotel in general is dim and poor quality ...so much so that you have to use the torches provided to read th menus at night time and what little light there is is dull white fluoresent... a little lighting in the amazing geenery would also not go amiss in terms of ambience.
my only other small observation is that the bathroom feels a little dated and grimy although room service did keep the room spotless. Ending on a happy note.... I have stayed in the best hotels in the world and the bed was undoubtedly the most comfortable ever.... I can unreservedly reccomend this wonderful hotel and thank all the friendly staff for an amazing time... unusually for me.... I will be back !!!!
