“Got Bedbugs Here”

My husband and I got bedbugs at this hotel, and they have now infested our house. We are sure that we got them here - we now know all the warning signs (bites, the smell of our clothes, etc), but did not recognize them at the time. Jamaica was wonderful though. We would go back - and stay somewhere else!

Just got back from the Beach House Villas and can't say enough good things. The friendly people who work at this hotel are the best, from the bartending and wait staff to the front desk people and groundskeepers. Our 2 bedroom villa was very clean and spacious. The breakfasts and lunches we had were good as well. The beach in front the hotel is kept clean and there are ample beach chairs. After viewing some other locations on the 7 mile beach, I can't imagine having stayed anywhere else!

This was my wife and I's tenth trip to Jamaica. For the first time we decided to try a non all inclusive resort, one that was smaller than we had stayed in but yet on seven mile beach. We arrived early evening and was welcomed by George (security/porter). George took us to our room and made sure everthing was OK. We hade a beautiful room, (the standard, cheapest, Garden View room,) complete with full kitchen area, king bed and nice patio. We had decided to eat at different restaurants, but by the 7th and last day we had realized we hadn't been any where else to have dinner. The restaurant food was very good, plenty of options and very reasonably priced. Lunch was around $8.00 per person and dinner was about $10.00 to $13.00 per person. This always included the gratuaties. They are always figured in the final tab (10%). The service was great and the estaurant staff was always very helpful and fun to visit with. We noticed people from every other nearby hotel's were always coming for lunch and dinner. There was a real noticeable ambiance about the hotel. All employee worked very good together and their first order of business was to take care of the client. The only thing that we can actually say was a deterrent was the misquito's, but we had these problems at every hotel we've stayed in in Jamaica, and were prepared with DEET. We haver never returned to the same hotel that we have stayed in, always trying something newm but we WILL return to BEACH HOUSE VILLAS.

“Beach House Paradise”

Beach House Villas

I have been to Beach House Villas in Negril several times over the past few years, most recently in November of last year. It is my favorite place to stay in Jamaica. The beautiful white masonary buildings are situated on the beach side of the highway that runs from the airport in Montego Bay to Negril.
The property is landscaped with all sorts of local trees and plants
which surround a walkway that travels from the office near the road to an open-air bar/restaurant at the beach. The property is beautifully maintained with the grounds crew constantly pruning the plants. As you walk the winding path, butterflies and hummingbirds fly past you as they move from one flower to another. The rooms are all well equipped with cable, air conditioning, ceiling fans and kitchens. The property has security at the beach and near the front office 24/7. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the staff are extemely friendly, pleasant people. Beach House Villas is well situated for access to diving, snorkeling, all sorts of watercraft activities and other bars and restaurants and shopping. An altogether very pleasant place to spend a vacation in the Caribbean.

    • Disliked — The long ride from the airport to Negril.

“Enjoyed Negril, BHV could be better...”

Beach House Villas

Let me start by saying that the trip as a whole was great, Negril is an island filled with character and personality. We loved the locals, the sunsets, the food, the beach and the location. This was a pleasant getaway.

Beach House Villas was not a total disappointment, but I must admit given the reviews I read before I booked (and cost), I was expecting something more.

Room: We stayed in the Garden Studio and I was very basic. I was hoping to see, just a few amenities in the room. I know it’s not an all-inclusive or 5 star, but it would have been nice to have little things in the room like shampoo and lotion. Also, the room seemed to be fairly humid and moist, even with the A/C on. This seemed to heighten the amount of mosquitoes in our room. Outside of that, the room served its purpose since we really only slept there.

Location: The location of BHV was great! We were in an idea location on the seven mile beach and had many restaurants and sites easily in walking distance.

Beach: Was really nice and well-kept. Security was on the beach and kept the guest feeling comfortable. The locals were very respectful and responded to a simple "no thanks" when attempting to sell goods or services.

Restaurant: Irie on the beach was just ok, but the bartender Delroy was AWESOME!!! So we ate at other restaurants, and came back to Irie for all our late night cocktails...yummy!

All- in-all the entire trip was great. The BHV with some TLC and sprucing up could be a property to be reckoned with.
