Let me start by saying that the trip as a whole was great, Negril is an island filled with character and personality. We loved the locals, the sunsets, the food, the beach and the location. This was a pleasant getaway.
Beach House Villas was not a total disappointment, but I must admit given the reviews I read before I booked (and cost), I was expecting something more.
Room: We stayed in the Garden Studio and I was very basic. I was hoping to see, just a few amenities in the room. I know it’s not an all-inclusive or 5 star, but it would have been nice to have little things in the room like shampoo and lotion. Also, the room seemed to be fairly humid and moist, even with the A/C on. This seemed to heighten the amount of mosquitoes in our room. Outside of that, the room served its purpose since we really only slept there.
Location: The location of BHV was great! We were in an idea location on the seven mile beach and had many restaurants and sites easily in walking distance.
Beach: Was really nice and well-kept. Security was on the beach and kept the guest feeling comfortable. The locals were very respectful and responded to a simple "no thanks" when attempting to sell goods or services.
Restaurant: Irie on the beach was just ok, but the bartender Delroy was AWESOME!!! So we ate at other restaurants, and came back to Irie for all our late night cocktails...yummy!
All- in-all the entire trip was great. The BHV with some TLC and sprucing up could be a property to be reckoned with.
