Pros:
- Spectacular view, several of the cottages have views of the beautiful west end cliffs
- Grounds are beautiful and well kept, many native plants are found in the gardens all over the property
- Small and intimate
- Courteous staff
- Walking distance to Rick's Cafe
Cons:
- Rooms were a bit too rustic, especially for the price we paid. Two bedroom suite was just a large room with a divider
- Food was just OK. Breakfast is free but I would not recommend the all-inclusive package based on the breakfast
- We had an issue with the toilet which they were not able to fix
- The windows in the room do not have screens and we had a lizard in our room, which was a bit annoying (if you aren't into lizards :-) ). A staff member did chase it out for us when we told them.
Overall:
I think the reason for all the wonderful reviews for this hotel is because of the grounds and location. The cliffside views are spectacular and would enchant anyone. However I think the rooms could use updating and I hope they make it apart of their plans soon. My friends and I were a bit disappointed at first when we saw the room, but everything else about the location made up for it. Overall it was a very good vacation and now that I know what to expect with the rooms, I would likely stay at Negril Escape again in the future.
