We stayed here one night with our daughter enroute back to the States after spending a week on Culebra. This property was really nice - rooms, pool, gym (ok, not great) and the location was good. It's in the Condado area so it was easy to walk and grab dinner. However, I was amazed at all of the college kids on spring break staying at this property. We paid well over $300 a night - when I was in college, that certainly wasn't in budget. Anyway, we could hear the kids in the room next to us with their dance music blasting. We called the concierge to complain and reached a recording, left a message, but they never returned our call.

The other thing we found a little absurd was that they charged $25 a night for a infant crib. Maybe this is standard, but I haven't seen this before.

I'm not sure that I would stay there again, I might opt for the La Concha property just down the road.

I truly enjoyed my little Birthday getaway. We really found the reviews on here to be on point. The hotel was decent we got a different room with a better view. You may need to know a little spanish to communicate with the maid and some waiters at the nearby restaurants and stores. The live band downstairs was a treat. The food is ridiculously high. Breakfast was like $15 dollars with no meat. So we went to the 24 hour Latin Cafe and it was very reasonable. Restaurants were decent nearby. The cab driver recommended Ajili Mojili which was awesome. Best tres leche cake ever. They had a veal dish that I never thought I would like sweet. Took a bus almost right outside the hotel. They don't seem to be as regular as we hoped. Got free drinks at the Bacardi Rum Distillery. I don't even drink much but enjoyed the ferry ride to get there from Old San Juan. We are definitely going back. Almost forgot to mention passion fruit juice is a regular thing I think the drinks they gave us while we waited to check in were delicioso. Rum punch or something.

First - we booked through priceline for a Saturday night after a cruise for $175 per night ..... when we checked in asked to see if an upgrade was available - offered $25 extra per night for ocean/pool view room - so we upgraded. ........ we checked in at 11:00 - GREAT service there!!!! .......... room had a good view - we were in the tower building - would highly recommend requesting that section......... Room was nice, clean, AC worked GREAT! .... nice balcony area, also flat screen tv. Pool area was just ok, hard to find a place to sun due to all the palm trees ...... beach area also just ok - nobody came around taking drink or food orders, had to track people down to try to take $$ from us for these things :) ........ casino - small, but ok - not great selection of slots, etc ....... $10 taxi ride to Old San Juan - $15.50 taxi ride to airport ....... clean, decent place to stay after cruise - last time we stayed at the Ritz - 10 times better, but of course you pay the $$ too.......... we also ate dinner at the buffet restaurant - yucky!! don't recommend............. starbucks and ice cream shop right across the street ........ they do not have scales to weigh your luggage in the hotel, so be aware of that if traveling after a cruise where you've bought lots of things - we just had to guess on the weight of our bags :)

The reviews here were really helpful.
Were really convinced when we walked by el Convento.
Don't get me wrong, Convento is very nice, but we spent an entire week in San Juan and Old San Juan is worth a day trip at most.
If you're in San Juan for more than 2 days, stay at the Marriott.
The beach is spectacular.
If you've been to any eastern US beach, you'll love the ocean here.
And the restaurants within walking distance of this hotel are specacular.
The hotel staff and all the local merchants are top notch.
Will be back some day and this is where we will stay.
