The hotel is conveniently located to the cruise terminals and other attractions in Old San Juan. I had a room on the top floor (9) and while I still heard music and partying from the street level, it wasn’t that bad.
The room was average size with average furnishings. The bed was very comfortable, however.
The hotel staff was cold/unfriendly and the restaurants in and around the hotel were VERY overpriced. The service at the hotel restaurants was horrible and the food wasn’t that great. It took 45 minutes to get my check when I had cheese fries at the Chicago Burger Company located in the hotel. My advice is to ask for your check when they bring you your food and you might actually have it by the time you are done.
The only time I received "service with a smile" was when I ordered room service. Although overpriced, it was very good and the waiter that brought everything to the room was polite.
The hotel itself wasn’t bad and like I said, the location was excellent if you are cruising, but I feel the hotel is overpriced and overrated. The area around the hotel is somewhat rough at night, so my advice would be not to go out after dark.
Puerto Rico is beautiful but I found the people there to be very rough and rude. I’m certainly not impressed with the hotel or the country!
