“Loved Spring Bay!”

Guavaberry Spring Bay Vacation Homes

We were at Guavaberry from June 19-22. We stayed in Allamanda. This place was wonderful. It was a fabulous value. The house was very spacious. Furnishings were minimal but comfortable. No phones or TVs which was fine with us. The people here were very friendly. There was a well stocked commisary with 24 hour access that worked on the honor system. Just write down what you take. We loved being this close to Spring Bay and the Baths. We were able to avoid the crowds at the Baths and go in the late afternoon. I would recommend a car rental on this island. We could have walked to the beaches but it would have been quite a hike with two children in tow. It was a lot better to be able to drive. Plus we were able to explore the whole island. We enjoyed visiting the Leverick Bay Resort for lunch and checking out the other end of the island. I have to say that the islanders on Virgin Gorda were the least friendly by far of any of the islands we visited. I definitely got the impression that they liked their little paradise better before tourism. I really can't say I blame them, but it was kind of the fly in the ointment for our stay on this island.

“Fabulous Family Spring Break”

Guavaberry Spring Bay Vacation Homes

Apr 16, 2008

We stayed at Guavaberry in the "Mango" bungalow (2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms) with our two teenagers in early April 2008. The bungalow was very clean and well stocked. The only thing that would have been nice to have was a blender for frozen drinks. The deck was awesome w/ a great view. Actually, all the bungalows appeared to have great views from their decks. The commissary was so handy and reasonably priced. The Delmonico steaks(ribeyes) and the good-sized shrimp were very tasty. The only thing the commissary does not offer is fresh produce. Buck's Market and Rosie's are the local small grocery stores carrying produce and other items you made need. We brought our own coffee and a few favorite spices along with us. Eating out at restaurants is very expensive. Rock Cafe was very tasty, okay service but the piano bar with Simon Kirk from the UK was a blast. Chez Bamboo was very good and great service but again expensive. The Spring Bay Beach is lovely. We rented a jeep which was convenient for cruising the island, going to other beaches or to the grocery store. You could walk to our beach but our bungalow was located across the main road and was nice to have a ride to and from the beach especially when you're hot and sticky. Have to mention the very professional, friendly staff at Guavaberry. Tina, Michelle and Valerie were all very helpful and polite. The dogs, Pearl and Sokum were a great addition to the staff too!

“relax in paradise”

Guavaberry Springbay is a series of small one and 2 bedroom houses nestled among the boulders on Spring Bay in Virgin Gorda. The houses have full kitchens and bbq's on the porch. Nicely furnished with a nice bathroom. Some have bedrooms with a/c and we are big a/c people but we didn't need to use it. The evening breezes thru the louvered windows were enough to cool the place off nicely.
The beach is a few minute walk and the best snorkeling is right there..it's a short snorkel from there to the famous Baths on the next beach.
I saw a gorgeous sea turtle float right past me as I snorkelled by.
It is very relaxing...no TV and no phones in the room (both are available at the front office). It is very quiet.....if you ask the question what is there to do here? then it's not for you. It's for chilling and doing nothing but sand and sea. We went out on a 50 foot catamaran and went sailing and snorkeling. At night we walked about 20 minutes to the Rock Cafe for drinks and to hear a guy play piano and sing. But that's about all the entertainment there is unless you go to one of the bigger hotels.
If you want peace and quiet and beauty....it's the place to go. A ferry ride away from St Thomas.

“Lovely, Above and Beyond Expectation!”

Guavaberry Spring Bay Vacation Homes

The "treehouse bungalow" was private, clean, cozy and tucked away amongst the boulders which gave it a romantic haven feel.
We sat on top of the boulder at night which was connected by a walkway to our deck, and watched the sunsets, the stars and the distant sailboats on the water. Romantic and laid back.
Loved the private beach (Spring Bay) down the road which was part of Guavaberry- some of the best snorkeling, trees for shade. and lots of enormous boulders flanking the smooth, white sand stretch of multi-tinted blue water. The beach was never crowded although the Baths (down the street) attracted a big crowd mid morning after the cruise ship drop off. We stayed clear of the Baths mid day.
I would not stay here with young kids or teenagers that liked a lot of action or if I liked alot of night life or great restaurants. If you like chillin on the beach, collecting shells, seeing amazing coral and tropical fish, body surfing, enjoying nice breezes, appreciating very helpful, friendly staff, and having no schedule- This one's for you. I wish I was back there right now!

“Better for Tourist, not travelers”

We stayed in one of the treehouse places. It was dirty, a bit run down, and kind of like staying in the trees. We had to tippy toe to see the ocean. Not enough breeze to accomodate our hot needs. A good 10 minute walk to get to their beach. When complimentary beach items were gone, that was it. First come first serve for the snorkel and fins. We are travelers and found several other places on the island that had comparable prices right on the beach. Know that you are getting an inexpensive deal and a hike to the beach.
