The cottage was basic but very nice and much like the rest of the island. Road are mostly sand but there is really no need for a car except perhaps a day ride around the island. It is very rural and certainly not for those who want ANY action. Restaurants close unless you call before 4 pm and order, for example. Beaches are very private and quiet. Very seldom saw anyone except a few off a yacht occassionally. Cow Wreck bar was great and met Sir Richard Branson there who owns the neighboring Necker Island. A place to get away from it all, that is for sure. The cottages are right on the beach which is beautiful but no snorkling there. Had to go across island for snorkling at Flash of Beauty and Loblolly. Good restaurant about 100 yards down beach from cottage.

Anegada Beach Cottages
Just got back from 10 days in Anegada Beach cottages.
Ok, some of the regular customers will hate me for posting this, as they all love to keep this place a little secret, but I have to share with people this gem! The cottages are great, clean, fully equiped, private, etc... but most cottages in the island seem to have this...what makes this place extra special, apart from the very friendly owner Mcenzie, it's the location. Situated on the leeward side of the island, the place is quite protected from the wind (quite strong on the windy season) and the cottages are right ON the beach. Not any beach, it's only the most beautifull beach in the island! And it's totally private and quiet.
It's walking distance (about 1.5km) to a general store and most of the restaurants. I sugest you have a lobster (the island speciality) at the Wistling Pines, Belto the owner is a lovely guy.
I was surprised to find such a relaxed Island among the busy BVI. The local people in Anegada are extreamly friendly, and happy that their island is not too busy...which is great news!
Go there to get way from it all, and just RELAX, enjoy the sun and beach, snorkel and do NOTHING. Not a place for people looking for resorts type accomodation.
