My husband and I stayed at the Silver Sands condo for a week in January 2008. The location is by far the best on the Seven Mile Beach. With 550 feet on the beach and only about 40 or so units, it is as if you have a totally private beach experience. Not only are there wonderful cabana structures to sit under, but there are the most exquisite huge trees right down by the water which provide the most wonderful dappled shade and ambiance. I am not usually a beach goer, but this was by far the finest beach venue that I have ever experienced. I spent hours under those wonderful trees enjoying the wonderful colors of the Carribean waters. I also had the opportunity to go snorkeling right from the beach and the underwater sights were amazing. While there I walked down the beach to explore other properties and not one had anywhere near the beachfront luxury of Silver Sands, even the so-called "luxury" hotels.

The rental condo which we had was a two bedroom, two and a half bath duplex which was beautifully maintained and had an outstanding view of the Carribean and the lush tropical gardens. Because of the way the buildings are set on the property, it appears that every unit would have an extraordinary view. All come with an open air lanai, perfect for breakfast or watching the wonderful sunsets. The fact that the two bedrooms and two baths were upstairs also added to the vacation because it afforded such privacy. To be able to have such wonderful accommodations at such an affordable rate was quite surprising.

One point I would like to make. When I use trip advisor, I usually book from their site on one of the recommended vendors. When I attempted to book from there for Silver Sands, however, it came up no accomodations available. I ended up calling Silver Sands to find out when they had available rentals and found out that you have to book directly from them. You can use their website www.silversandscondos.
com to find out about availability. I am certainly glad that I went the extra mile to book this place. It was outstanding!!!

Recently visited the Grand Caymans as a family of five and stayed at the Silver Sands Condominiums, which this site strongly advised. We couldn't have been more impressed. The view was spectacular, the beach immaculate, the pool clean and beautiful. The grounds were perfect. The apartment was clean, bright and beautiful. Absolutely no down side. We strongly recommend this locale.

It really is the best kept secret on 7 Mile Beach. 550 feet of pristine beaches, lush gardens, big pool, huts for shade along with casuarina trees, tennis and volleyball, too. All condos face the sea. Never crowded even if the complex is full. The gazebo on the beach is a great gathering place at any time but especially for sunsets! Many families return year after year. The place was just redone inside and out due to Hurricane Ivan. Most condos have been updated, just check with the office. There are only 14-16 of the 42 condos that are rented. You have so much room in the condos compared to a hotel room in Cayman at the same cost! Must rent a car to get around altho there are small buses which charge $2 CI a ride. The buses go up and down West Bay Road. Try it you will return!

Our family has stayed at Silver Sands on several occasions and as the brochures say "It is one of the best kept secrets on Seven Mile Beach." The beach is never crowded as there is 550 ft of beach and only 42 condos. There is plenty of shade with thatched huts and huge Casuarina trees right on the beach. Our family love the beautiful tropical gardens. The condos are in a semi circle facing the beach.This is a great place for families with small children. The swimming pool is huge and well maintained. There is a covered gazebo on the beach and you can meet down there at sunset for a drink and visit with other guests. Everyone is very friendly. They even have a volleyball court and 2 tennis courts. We especially liked snorkelling off the beach, we were not far from Cemetery Reef which is a great place to snorkel.
The staff, Gwenda and Sophia were very friendly and helpful. We had a 2 bedroom condo which was very spacious and well equiped. There are 3 bedroomed condos as well. Silver Sands is an older property but it has been all updated and the owners keep the condos well maintained.The complex seemed to be good for divers also. We even saw some divers being picked up from the beach in the morning to go diving.
I would recommend renting a car as this complex is nearer the end of Seven Mile Beach. Andy's Car Rental has good rates. Once you visit Silver Sands you will not want to vacation any where else. We just love it.
