We wanted an unforgetable expirience for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and Mount Nevis Hotel was the perfect setting. Our family is big, all together we were 14 adults and 7 children ranging from 16 to 8 years old. Mount Nevis Hotel not only provided excellent accomodations, great food and magnifecent vistas, but a heartwarming staff willing to please and help in anyway possible.
The Hotel is run by the Menguis family and since the very begining they were extremely helpful, even before we got there. We wanted a special dinner celebration for our parents, and were connected with the hotel chef to select a special menu for the ocassion. having such a wide range of ages and tastes, the Chef made sure to provide an exquisit variety of dishes and a case of Dom Perignnon was flown in specially for us, and! What can I say, we LOVE champagene!!!! Not only was the dinner delicious, but an anniversary Cake and decorations were provided as well with a golden Happy Anniversary banner and balloons. The hotel played a special CD collection of old boleros that we provided without a glitch and my parents said it was the best anniversay ever.
The accomadotions at the hotel are very well taken care of. Large rooms with high wood ceilings, small kitchen and a nice avarage bathroom. Everything was clean, which is very important to us. There is a nice pool that can be used for laps, and recreation, and the state is very well groomed. It is not beach front, but the hotel will provide a shuttle that takes you to a nearsite beach. We actually walked to the beach a couple of times, although it can be a 25 minutes walk and some people might not want to.
The staff was very friendly and understanding. They were very patient in the mornings when we started driping slowly into breakfast. Some of us very early, some of us at the last minute before the kitchen closed. They ran out of caffeineted coffee on the day before last, which drove one of my sisters out of commission, but it was understandable as Nevis has to import most of what it consumes.
All in all we recommend the Mount Nevis Hotel, and will be looking to repeat our wonderful vacation.
