-20 minutes by car to the beautiful beaches of the caribbean sea
-permanent barking of dogs, which are living around the resort
-one can hear the close highway
- there is also some traffic on a street behind the villas
-the furnitures and the equipment especially of the kitchen have seen better times
- no proper umbrellas around the pool
- deck chairs are made of plastic und not comfortable
- due to the location in a lush valley, there are a lot of mosquitos

one positive remark: the staff was very friendly

The Palms is surely the finest place to stay in T&T--for sure in Tobago. The island is a colorful place--great snorkeling, hiking, swimming and birdwatching--but we spent just as much time simply relaxing at our private villa. Between sunbathing by the pool, candlelight dinners on the verandah, and swimming by moonlight, we had a romantic retreat we'll remember forever.

Three couples spent one week in Tobago to go diving and stayed at the Palms Villa. We were impressed with the website and the fact that it could accommodate three couples in a 3BR/3BA Pool villa. When we got there, we realized the photo's did not do the Villa justice.

We were not prepared for the great service that came with the Villa. Both the Owner and Sue met us at the Airport, we got a tour of our VIlla, our first nights dinner was prepared and the kitchen stocked.

The VIlla was awesome. We spent non diving time on the veranda or pool and cooked several nights. There was nothing that could have been done differently.

When it was time to go home, we really didn't want to leave our "new" temporary home or our new friends.

Staff excellent, house excellent, view excellent. We loved every minute of our week in Tobago.

My friends and I recently travelled to The Palms Villa Resort in Tobago and what a fantastic time we enjoyed ! We booked from the website and had the normal trepidations of whether the website would live up to the venue but we are pleased to say it surpassed.

The villas are absolutely beautiful: luxurious, sparkling clean, beautifully situated, wonderfully private ... The bedrooms are hugely spacious, the living areas carefully thought out and decorated wonderfully in Caribbean colours and style. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Every requirement was catered for: coolboxes for taking drinks and snacks to the beach or for exploratory journeys around the island, mosquito repellent in readiness for any of those bugs wanting to attack, freshly laundered beach towels ready for use with replacements ready available daily, a loaded fridge on arrival. The villa also has its own laundry area so you can travel with just one outfit if you want and wash at will !!

We went during Carnival and the whole atmosphere and experience was fantastic. We did however find time to take a speedboat snorkelling trip exporing lots of coves around the island, some that can be only reached by boat which added hugely to the appeal. The speedboat trip was run by David who works/owns The Palms. His knowledge of the island is comprehensive and he is so informative, we would recommend it highly. We also went diving and the instructors were brilliant (particulary with one of our group who was more than a little nervous). The array of fish and coral are amazing.

Tobago is a beautiful unspoilt island and The Palms are a wonderful place to stay. We will be back !

My husband and I travelled to Tobago this year for carnival (2006). We've travelled all over the world and have stayed at luxury hotels and villas throughout. We prefer staying in villas because of the privacy and comfort. So when we chose The Palm Villa, we thought we were getting a servicable facility with daily housekeeping. The property is beautiful. Our villa was quite adequate, but the staff and service sucked during carnival!

Transportation to and from the airport is provided, but just be sure to inform the staff of how many bags and the size of the bags you will be bringing. They picked us up in a very small older model Toyota Corolla. Luckily my husband and I travel light and are not big people.

Because carnival was going on, I guess the staff decided they didn't need to work because they were missing in action during carnival. We had to call them on their cell phones to get extra towels, get our villa cleaned, and to follow up on activities they were coordinating for us. However, we did run in to the staff dancing in the streets of Tobago when they should have been cleaning our villas. Oh, and when they did come to clean the villas, they started washing the laundry (sheets, towels, and other facility linens) but we had to put the laundry in the dryer and take them out--that is if we wanted to wash our own personal items. Wow, travelled all that way to do laundry...go figure! By the way, I'm still waiting on them to call me back with regards to our day trip to Trinidad.

Phone calls. There is a charge for local calls but this is not noted anywhere in their brochures or posted in the villas. After clearing a discrepancy with regards to our final bill, the owner and the staff of the Villa made insulting comments about Americans, and how they like to sue. Now, how questioning charges on our bill can lead someone to make such unfounded accusations has still escaped me today. The attitude of The Palm Villa Resort is very much anti-American.

The Palm Villa offers internet connection, but don't count on it working. We did not have internet access for 5 of the 7 days we were there and they were not in a big hurry to get it up and running. This was a big problem since we made it very clear months before we arrived that we had to be able to access the internet.

My husband and I will return to Tobago. We love the island but we will be staying elsewhere next time where the customer is treated with respect and the facility provides the service it advertises and offers.

Despite the service, The Palm Villa Resort would have been a great place to vacation for those that like privacy. Other than that, the food in Tobago is great and the island is a dream.
