I have to say that we also expected more from this small and private resort but you have to look at the positive side as well. North Caicos is a beautiful island with very little tourism so you cannot expect that accomodations are up do date. In the overall our stay was o.k. If you like to have a beach just for yourself and don´t care to much about the accomodation than this locations is right for you. Withby beach is really beautiful . Alveda cooked for us once and the dinner was indeed really tasty. I am sure in a few years they will update the suites.

Unfortunately our stay at Hollywood Beach Suites was not pleasant at all. The suite is really a tiny room, with a tiny bathroom and a tiny living /kitchen space ( if you can call it kitchen ). You would never ever cook there - there is no A/C in this tiny room and the heat is unbearable - also no dishwasher. There is only an internet line ( nice - when it works ) and no phone line. No reception or property manager on site. No outdoor lights, so total darkness in the evening. No pool. Lots of ants inside the suite, cracked walls. The place looks like it belongs in the 70`s. For $ 260 per night you would expect a LOT more. It looks like the suites are mostly empty and we now know why. Hard to believe that other guests gave a positive review in the past.
We checked the Ocean Beach club which is 5 min, walk from HBS and we switched place right away. At Ocean beach club you will find a real nice suite, lots of space,a restaurant, pool and a reception desk with helpful folks. Oh, and they only charge $ 180 for the suite !

Hollywood Beach Suites was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable acommodations. Absolutely an ideal place to do nothing. The beach is great. Plenty of shade to relax in after time in the sun. If one enjoys getting away from the crowds and the more developed resorts give this place a try.

We found the folks at Hollywood Beach Suites a pleasure to deal with from initial inquiry to post trip. They responded quickly and accurately to all requests/questions, handled transportatation from/to Provo, arranged diving, and provided accurate information about the island, things to do, etc.........all without a hitch.

We were amazed that on the busiest day we saw 8 people strolling on the beach! (Yes, we counted from sunup to sundown) Note that while there are low key nature oriented things to do, the appeal for us was the lack of things to do to. Nothing to distract us from doing nothing.

Our little family just spent a week at the hollywood suites and have come back rejuvenated. If you are looking for a quiet, tranquil and relaxing vacation this is the place to go. For an entire week we simply went from our suite to the hammock and onto the 7 miles of the most incredible beach we have EVER seen. Our stay was too short and though the weather could have been more cooperative- the stay was still amazing. There is nothing touristic on this island. You get to see the real people who live on the island and pretend that this was your home. We miss our little home in Turks and Caicos. Alveda, the manager of the suites was incredibly accomodating and cooked us dinner every night. She was there whenever we needed her and was incredibly helpful in EVERY way. I think because of the weather that week we had a couple of mosquito bites so be sure to bring some bug repellent! Otherwise- it was like heaven on earth.

PS- there is nothing to do- and if this is what youlike- you'll love it at the hollywood suites
