This was our first stay in St. Thomas other than visiting by cruise ship before. We stayed at the Pavilions and Pools for 4 nights. This property is a bit old, we booked the international room for the larger pool area rather than the caribbean room. Our room was very clean, I think all of these are independently owned, so I guess some are a lot nicer than others.
The best part of our stay was the privacy each unit has. We could jump into the pool from our living room or bedroom if we wanted to, there was a nice size deck as well. Our unit had two air condition units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom.
Also, it is just a 5 minute walk to Sapphire Beach, which is very beautiful with lot of activities available.
Red Hook is about a mile away, this is where you catch the ferry over to St. John island, where we went to Trunk Bay Beach, which is fabulous too.
If you like to have privacy and a very peaceful vacation, I would recommend staying here, most relaxing vacation we ever took.
Bring extra cash for the taxi ride, they nomally run from $5pp to $15 pp each way. We were never able to ride the 'dollar' trucks, these normally just carried the locals, not tourist unless it was an excursion that was booked.

See photos. This is supposed to be the most expensive and best room in the hotel. Do not stay here, it is old and run down.

Over the past three months We have stayed at Pavilions and Pools Hotel and every time has been terrific. We stayed in Room 121 ans Room 116 and they are in fact great rooms with a great view. For a wonderful secluded romantic vacation. Pavilions and Pools is the place for you.

“Nightmare at The Pavillions & Pools”

This was our first time in St Thomas and we wanted it to be very romantic. We chose Pavillions and Pools based on good reviews from this site (Trip Advisory)...Our first day was dissapointing and it went down hill from there..when we arrived we saw that the resturant was under construction (this was never metioned on their website, instead it boasted about their great menu selection)...then we were told that we would be moved to another room the next day (apparently the owners of that unit were going to be in town) it was for the better because we had no cold water and the kitchen cabinets smelled like puke...the room was also in need of repairs; peeling paint, cracks thoughout the room, missing pieces of tiles(rm # 116)...they finally moved us later the next day. (it took them over 3 hours to clean the room) when we arrived at rm#121 the first thing we smelled was a bad ordor of cigarettes (we dont smoke) we had to open the sliding doors to air it out...to salvage this wasted day, we brought steaks to BBQ (we had a gas grill) but there was no propane! when we called they said we would have some shortly. ( we finally did get the propane, when we were checking out!) later that night the electricity went out...this affected the bedroom, bathroom, living room,tv,stereo and ceiling fans...when i called the front desk they told me to "trip" the breaker box...i did and the power went out again shortly...i did this 3 times and decided to stop because i thought a fire would start..when i called the desk again, they said they would have an electrican look at at...we were out all day the next day from 8am until 7pm and when we got back, the lights were still off...before we got to the room, i saw the site manager and he told me the electrican fixed the problem. (he lied) i called the manager to complain and he said i t was fixed..i told him to come to the room...when he saw that half the room was still dark he said the electrican can only fix it when the room was empty...i told him if you guys checked our room, you would have had an empty room for about 11 hours! another night in darkness! as we were checking out, i heard the manager tell the house keeping staff to clean our room, it will be rented today..(hopefully rm#121 will have their electicity fixed) also the manager never apologize for any inconvenience we had...enjoyed the island, hated the pavillions and pools...DO NOT STAY HERE PEOPLE.

“Loved it”

I thought about writing a review about this place because I loved it so much. I really did not want to share. It is a small place but very peaceful and private. My husband and I were there for 26 days. For us it was perfect the maid is schueld every couple of days and so is the pool person. WE got to the point we did not really want to go to the store, but we only get to see each other every 4 to 6 months so all we want is to be together where it is quite and there is no kids. Pavillions and Pools do allow kids but it is so private that I only heard a couple playing in there pool one night.
Having our own kitchen was really nice because I cooked most of our meals and he cooked breakfast. The food prices in St Thomas are Higher than the states. Cig and Alcohol is cheaper though.
Loved walking aroung how every you want and swimming when every you want and being able to wear any kind of swim suit you want.
