“Don't do it”

My friends and I went for a 7-day vacation and we were miserable whenever we were in our rooms, which thankfully wasn't much. We were COMPLETELY chewed up by mosquitos! They were even in the dining room, as there's a swamp next to the hotel, so imagine swating them away while trying to shower, use the bathroom, dress, relax, sleep and waking up every morning to find any piece of exposed skin bitten. There was a cockroach the length of my palm and another dead one on the floor that misteriuosly kept being missed by the vaccum. When we complained we were handed bug spray! Moldly carpet and more mold on the ceiling (isn't that health hazardous?) to the extent that it was black in spots. A filthy toilet when we checked in. Leaking air conditioner. My television did not work at all. I had to request that a clock be brought up to my room and then had to endure 10 minutes of advances from the guy that brought it up. There was a balcony...dirty. The furniture...filthy. The back of the room chair was black from dirt. Place was all around scary! Restaurant food was below average and even though the waitress was very nice, it took an hour to get a meal in an empty dining room! Oh, and they didn't have our rooms at check in and then tried to give us cheaper rooms at the same price. There are extra fees they don't tell you about too. A daily 'room cleaning fee' in a filthy hotel? The pool was bad as the hotel is on a road and the pool is on the road side and there were a thousand mosquitos there too. Couldn't even lounge comfortably. And good luck crossing that road to get to the beach accross the way...and be sure to leave that beach early if you're a woman...pretty seedy is all I'll say. Our answer was to just go out and stay out until bed time since we couldn't find another place while there. Just stay away! The people we met and the nightlife and fun away from the hotel saved our vacation!

“Right by the Beach”

This place was awesome. Spring Break heaven and affordable. This hotel is located right in the heart of Nassau. Everything is within Walking distance food, shopping, City Beach, and dance clubs. Lots of Spring Breakers stayed here, so it gives you a good chance to meet people vacationing. Everyone was really chill and helpful that worked here. Tons of options for things to do. The only downside is if the weather is gloomy, you want to be on Cable Beach or Paradise Island. But expect to pay $$$$, if you stay on those beaches.

“Terrible Hotel”

Nassau Palm Hotel

We hated the hotel. Our room was disgusting with a leaky air conditioner and wet, moldy, dirty rug. Our door was falling off its hinges. Water was off several times during the week with no warning and during peak times. When we had water it was mostly cold. There were lots of ice machines but we couldn't find any that worked. The whole hotel was in disrepair. Hotel staff were not very helpful and didn't care about our problems. I would not recommend it to anyone, especially because it wasn't very cheap for the condition of the place!

“Staff Very Unhelpful”

Nassau Palm Hotel

Mar 7, 2008

The hotel is low budget, and the service, not surprisingly, is the same. The staff is very unhelpful and they think two dimensionally.

My brother-in-law recently stayed there. His last name is Henderson. When we asked for his room, the staff said no one by that name had checked in. We had them check 3 other names, including his wife's maiden name and the name Anderson because that is common name on the island.

To make a long story short, no matter what we asked or how we tried, they could not locate him. As it turned out, the hotel typed in the name Handerson. Of course, they did not check this nor did they check the names of the guests who had checked in that day.

When we complained, the manager said it was not his staff's fault. They typed in his name, whose fault could it be??!!

The management and staff were unhelpful and, in fact, quite rude. Low budget; No service. Stay at the British Colonial across the street. It costs more, but, hey, you only get what you pay for.

“Great 2.0 Star Hotel!!”

Nassau Palm Hotel

2 of 5 stars
Everywhere you wanna be!
Mar 2, 2008
1/2 found this review helpful

Just returned from a short 4 night stay at the Nassau Palm Resort. I must start by saying that this hotel has alot of potential
to be a higher quality property, the staff is very good, but falls short in many other areas that is not their fault.. If you are looking to stay at a 2.0 Star hotel close to everything & won't be spending too much time at the property itself then this is your spot!!

LOCATION: On the edge of Downtown Nassau right in the middle of and across the street from Junkanoo Beach...About half way between Cable beach & Paradise island...10 Minutes walk from Straw Market, downtown & Cruise ship docks..
Right next door to historic Fort Charlotte & Adastra Gardens
Zoo.. Fish fry 5 minute walk from hotel...Very convenient for
me to get around since I was traveling solo.

PROS: Good location close to everything, located on busiest
street in town, Bay street. Buses for $1.00 to Cable Beach
$3.00 ferry ride to Paradise Island. Next door to Fort Charlotte
& Ardastra Gardens Zoo. Across the street from great beach. Walk to Straw market/downtown..Decent restaurant in hotel w/ room service...2 fully stocked bars..convenience store in lobby.
2 swimming pools w/ hot tubs..small workout room... I was allowed to get checked in Early @ 12 noon when I arrived within @ 10 mins at front desk. (3pm normal check in).. Lobby looks decent when you check in.. Very cute girls at tour desk.. holla
Shower has medium water pressure.. nice temperature..
Beds and Pillows are extremely comfotable..AC works well.
In room safe...Laptop computer Wi-fi access in lobby area..
Cold beer at all times good food at restaurant...Fridge in room.

CONS: Located directly on busiest street in town. Very loud road
noise from street especially on weekends, Thursday-Sunday.
Fish fry crowd very, very loud on Thursday/Sunday.. Impossible
to sleep on those nights until @ 1 a.m.. Dozens of loud dirt bikes that sound like you're at a race track all night long, very annoying.
Dirty stained carpet in room, bathrooms need to be remodeled,
hotel is kinda dusty and dingy almost everywhere you go.. Ice machines always out of order..had to walk around the entire building to get ice..
