Pink Sands is exceptionally short of expectations and not even close to its own advertising. The food is frankly terrible (served in a dark open air space far from the ocean) and the service is indifferent at best. Housekeeping is minimal and the place could really use a bath and a whole bunch of paint. The beach is spectacular - but the bar that overlooks it closes at 4:00 - just when you're ready for a cocktail! The rattiest bathrobes in any hotel I've ever stayed in and the worst morning coffee imaginable. Give yourself a real treat and stay somewhere else!

We stayed at Pink Sands in one of the ocean front villas. Although the beach is worth the trip to the island, the service at Pink Sands lies somewhere between below average and indifference. I saw another review that called it a "we couldn't care less" attitude -- thank you for helping me find the most appropriate description. Without a doubt, stay at the Rock House if you are looking for superior service. Although overlooking the harbor and not on the beach, it's only a minute or 2 to get to the beach.

We moved to the Pink Sands after a disappointing stay at The Landing. The views from our cabin were spectacular and we had a private path to their incredible beach. The room had the expected amenities and then some and was completely comfortable, although for what we paid, it should have been. I agree with previous reviewers about the quality of the food in the dining room, as well as the service which was very frenetic and haphazard, but we loved the Blue Bar for breakfast and lunch. Our best meals on an island obviously bereft of decent restaurants. One caution--the hotel was loaded with young yuppie parents with their au pairs attempting to control their kids. (Key word--attempting) So if you're going for a quiet, adult getaway (which probably includes a dining room without kids running around), look elsewhere.

With a "we couldn't care less" attitude, the staff and management quickly convinced us we had chosen the wrong property to spend an upscale vacation. Service was non existant, though we did catch the house keepers "fixing" our bed problem by shoving a weathered piece of plywood under our mattress. I won't even comment on the food. Without much ado I will say this: look elsewhere.
