“Great Place”

This hotel is very nice. There are 180 rooms, they have either two queens, with a balcony, or a king with not balcony, all ocean view. The food is buffet, or a la carte, very good food, prepared well, never got sick. The drinks are premium brand, bottled beer no draft, lots of taste, and never hot, drinks are always cold. There are lots of chairs by the pool, and lots of palapas, no need to go down early to reserve. The only disadvantage is there is hardly any shade after 11am. The staff is very friendly, and the maids are very clean, and have your rooms cleaned before 2pm.
I only have nice things to say about this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone. Had a great time there.

“Great Hotel but Concerned”

We had a great hotel and stay at the Hotel and found all Staff to be very friendly and accomodating including the reservation manager Christina. The Gym was below average but for a light workout it was sufficient. Pool was above average as was the restaurant. The only concern now is trying to book for 2007 directly with the hotel and not getting any response as to prices which leads me to believe that there is trouble with management or the operation of the hotel. For 2006 we were able to book as early as July of the previous year. Not sure what is going on but we would love to go back but if no response comes soon the best airfares will be gone. May now have to look at another hotel or city.

“Amazing views, Excellent overall”

My husband and I were in Acapulco in early November 2005 for a friend's wedding and booked the Elcano on [---------------]which I believe has the best rates. Just about everything about the Elcano was fabulous! There is an amazing view of the entire bay from the balcony where you can sit in the nice wooden deck chairs and enjoy morning coffee/pastries. I believe all rooms and balconies have this great view. The pool area was very nice and clean with prompt and friendly service from the bar. The hotel is family friendly (but not overrun with kids) with international clientele. The breakfast buffet is outstanding - authentic mexican food or traditional american food with all types of fruits, juices, breads and beverages. And the service overall throughout the hotel was excellent. There are a lot of birds that come into the edges of the dining area but it is an outside dining area so that is to be expected. I didn't see any birds near the buffet and the food was always covered. We rented a skee-doo on the beach which was very reasonable. The beach is very coarse but with the great pool there's no reason to lay on the beach. The evening entertainment in the lobby - duo singing popular spanish hits - was a nice surprise and they were very talented -not shlocky like some hotel entertainment. The beds were extremely hard and I found it hard to sleep but some have said this is the norm. There's also no carpeted or soft surfaces anywere but that is because of the high humidity in Acapulco. The location was within walking distance of a few things - CiCi waterpark, maybe a couple nightclubs, Walmart but the really busy area is further down the bay which was fine with me. This is not a hotel for partiers or spring breakers. Instead it is for adults and families and I would highly recommend the Elcano and plan to return.

“Elcano - Great Hotel”

The hotel was excellent. The rooms were always kept clean and towel service twice a day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs and always greated us with a smile. They were able to answer all our questions and if not found someone who could. Made reservations on our behalf and gave us a courtesy call to ensure that we were comfortable and if there was anything they could do to make our stay more pleasurable. Can't believe that it is only rated as a 3 star hotel on some places on the net. Would definitely give this a 4 star. For an all inclusive being able to order from the menu was a definite plus. The food was excellent and offered a large selection to choose from. The location was great and offered a spectacular view of the bay, every room has a full ocean view. The hotel was tranquil and quiet even during Spring Break. For being completely booked the elevator service was never a wait. Repairs to the hotel were done immediately. One tile on the balcony was lose, repaired the next day; one light bulb out was replaced that same day without us even mentioning it. Left camera and other valuables out without going missing. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend and return to this hotel.

“Every way Elcano is # 1”

Stayed for 7 days in March during spring break-3/17-3/24. Was very pleased and happy, was clean and never loud. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. On the beach they have a small area that they will bring you food and drink to you. That was great, you can lay down and tell them what you want and 10 mins. later you have it. Food was good too. Rooms were very clean. A lot of people from Mexico City seem to be staying there and no spring breakers. Of all the hotels close by Elcano is the best one.
