“Don't panic!”

Ritz Acapulco

3 of 5 stars
Humble, Texas
Jul 14, 2008

Well I read with horror some of the awful reviews, but it was too late to make other plans. Once I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. Contrary to what others have said, there are plenty of staff who speak English...just not very well. All they are looking for is some effort on your part to speak some Spanish. That literally opens doors for you. My stay was great. The room was spartan, but clean. The pool was very nice as were the activities directors. They are always asking for folks to join in games or excursions (free ones). Sure, you may not get a 44oz. cup of booze from the bar, but go visit them as often as you wish. They will happily pour you as many as you want. The food was fine. No issues with anything. It wasn't 5-star, but is wasn't awful by any stretch. One restaurant is all you have. It is open for breakfast and dinner. The snack bar is open for lunch. If you want to go eat elsewhere, there are a myriad of places within walking distance.

All in all, I wouldn't mind going back. However, I compare every all inclusive resort in Mexico to the Golden Parnassus in Cancun. That place is top-notch, and by comparison, the Ritz is simply average.

“Sun Fun & PINA COLADAS”

2 weeks of sun, fun and pina coladas.

We stayed here and found the hotel to be fantastic. Not top of the line, but fantastic none the less. The hotel staff can not be beat. Tons of entertainment. Restuarants, club and shopping are totally abundant within an easy walk from this hotel.

For the money this all-inclusive hotel can not be beat.

I always read trip advisor prior to booking a hotel, because I believe tourists are the best reviewers.........

I wanted to write this review as a service to fellow tourists that are in the same boat as me. I really didn't like this hotel. We did not like it so much, we checked out the same day and demanded that we be given credit from Apple Vacations to move to a different hotel.

CONS---- There are many

1) The lobby was In desperate need of updating......this place had the look and feel of a dirty motel
----------No electronic Room Keys, Only One Key on a chain

2) Mostly all locals in hotel, you will hardly find tourists from other countries

3) The only restaurant open for dinner was a buffet, set in an outdoor/open atmosphere.......the food was discusting.....the best thing I had was the bread rolls, everthing else did not feel safe.....

4) OPEN BAR??? HA!!! Sure, if you want no name brands that will give you a stomach ache.....

5) Small Swimming Pool......

PROS

1) Nice view from Ocean Side room...that is about it.....

If you like lousy food, lousy drinks, an old hotel in dire need of updating.....this is the place to go.......

Happy Trails,

“COUNTING THE DAYS!”

Ritz Acapulco

We have just spent 2 amazing weeks at the Acapulco Ritz. We have stayed at this property many times for many years. The hotel is very, very clean bright and comfortable. The food quality, variety and service is excellent. The staff is exceptional, always smiling, hardworking and will go out of their way to accommodate you. The Animacion staff will entertain you by the pool in the day and put on an outstanding floor show in the evening. There is live entertainment nightly in lobby bar, so if you feel like kicking up your heels, this is the place. There are lots of lounges, umbrella's around the pool and in the beach area. The pool is both adult and children and a little small especially if the hotel is busy, but if it gets too congested you can always use that big ocean out front. There is excellent security at all times in the hotel and in the beach area so we always feel very comfortable. This hotel offers great quality, exceptional value and lots of fun. Can't wait to go back!

“The Ritz Is Good Value”

Ritz Acapulco

Feb 1, 2008
6/6 found this review helpful

Just returned from a one weeks stay at the Ritz. The hotel is kept very clean and the food surprisingly good. Good value for the dollar. The weather in Acapulco is amazing, hot and not a cloud in the sky. Just wish they had a bigger pool as it can get very crowded when there's alot of children. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return in the future.
