“Great location, Hotel lacks some comfort”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

Feb 27, 2008

My boyfriend and I just spent 6 days at the Fiesta Inn. We liked the fact that the hotel was on the smaller side and not overwhelming. We arrived on a Monday afternoon with not many people around. By Thursday night, the crowds started to roll in.

We were happy with most aspects of this hotel for the price.
Our only disappointments are the beds were as hard as a rock and we had bats living in a crack on our deck (Rm. 209). Every morning we would here them coming back from their midnight flights - kind of creepy hearing them squeaking. The lounge and deck chairs were plastic and also hard so grab an extra towel for a little extra padding at the pool.

The views from our room were gorgeous. The first room we checked into was on the west side of the hotel (Rm. 212) but right on top of an active construction site. I immediately went back down to the front desk and was given another room on the east side of the hotel. I think the view is better on the east side anyway. The rooms were cleaned everyday. And all staff were friendly and accommodating. Poolside service was excellent (a nice tip first thing at the pool was always helpful to speed up service).

We ate at the breakfast buffet one morning and it was OK. A chance to try some things we probably would never have tried. Decided we didn't need to spend the money to eat there again. Ordered room service one late morning, we were told it would take a while because they were still serving breakfast and we wanted lunch. Didn't take more than a half hour so we were happy with that and the food was decent too.

Location was great for nightlife, we usually ended our night at Barbarojo's which was always entertaining and lively.

It was back to our room to sit on the deck, listen to the waves crash on the beach and sip a cold beer in the moonlight. Suggestion - since there is no mini-fridge in the room, buy a cheap styrofoam cooler and keep your beer cold in that.

Over all is was a great place and we would for sure stay there again, especially if they update with new beds.

“Fiesta Inn Acapulco, pretty good.”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

4 of 5 stars
Mexico City

Stayed June 29 to July 2, 2007.

Rooms: Very clean and nicely decorated. Every room has a nice view to the sea. Air conditioning was noisy but kept the room cool.

Staff: Very friendly and polite, esp. at the restaurant.

Location: Very convenient location in the Costera road, near restaurants, bars, etc.

Pool: Two small pools. So, so.

Beach: IMO not good. It has a very small private beach full of rocks and dangerous streams and an entrance to the public beach on the other side.

Food: Regular quality and VERY expensive.

Price: Of course it´s not one of the most expensive hotels, but I still found their rates to be pretty high. Anyway, you can find better rates for this hotel on the Internet.

Park: Valet Parking, 50 pesos a day (very high rate in Mexico)

Conclusion: Overall, It´s a good place to stay. I recommend it.

“The ONLY place to stay in Acapulco”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

Don't waste you time and stay anywhere else! Every other hotel just doesn't have the view of this hotel. we were so fortunate to get a corner room. They appologized profusely as we checked in and said they would move us the next day. WHY? I thought because it was the 3rd floor? Once we got in the room I did not want to leave! The 3rd floor is like the 7th. Even the first floor is quite a few floors above the sand. Having both windows open, with the breeze blowing by. Heaven. And was it ever hot in Feb. 92 degrees and humid. AAA reccomends this place, and it's one of very few. ALOT of doggone nasty hotels here. most hotels on the strip are run down, or up on a cliff away from anything. I will post the killer view we had, and if you stay somewhere else, you have no one but yourself to blame.
