My husband and I stayed at the Casa Inn Acapulco for the last night of our honeymoon. It sure made us ready to go home. It was a miserable night. First off, we were told we could check in at 12:00 noon, both from Hotels.com, Casa Inn and we verified it by phone. Well we had to store our luggage for about 2 hours, due to teh fact we had to check out of our previous resort by 10:00. We walked around for the two hours until it was time to check in, well our room wasn't ready at noon, we continued to walk around for another hour and our room was still not ready. Finally we just gave up and sat in the lobby until we were able to check in at nearly 2:00. The front desk staff was not as friendly as we would have hoped for them to be. They also did not speak as much english as we needed to be able to clearly understand them. Once we finally got to the room, it smelled musty and damp. The beds were literally as soft as the marble floors! The air conditioning was freezing cold and there were no blankets on the beds, only sheets. Our room overlooked the pool, which also overlooks the busy city streets. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the people in the next room talking, and they weren't talking loudly. We did go to a decent restaraunt across the street called Jimmy's. The food and service were good. And it wasn't exprensive at all, 180 pesos for two people. My husband and I did not sleep well at all that night, due to the ridicoulsly hard bed, the freezing cold room, the city traffic that didn't stop until nearly 3 am and the screaming baby two doors down. We did appreciate the free internet service that was provided, until we had to wait for almost an hour to use it as several children conitnued to monopolize it forever. The office room was also very dirty, littered with cigarette butts and sticky ice cream sticks and wrappers everywhere. We enjoyed our stay in Acapuloc and did not want to leave at all, until we stayed at the Casa Inn and then we were begging to go home. We payed only $58 a night for this hotel and I guess the saying, YOu get what you pay for is true.
