“Good budget option, close to cliff divers”

Etel Suites

This is a good budget option. Rooms are clean and comfortable for the very reasonable prices. It isn't a flash hotel, though, and so there aren't any luxury extras! The hotel is conveniently located for the cliff divers, but you have to walk 6-7 minutes down a steep hill and then jump on a bus for the nice beaches. Be warned - you have to walk back up this hill!
The staff are the real advantage of this place though - the owner Mrs Etel and her staff member Dixie went out of their way to help us with our travel plans and spoke excellent english.
No meals are served here, but there are plenty of places to eat near the Zocalo, and the restaurant 100% Natural at the bottom of the hill is great for breakfast.

“Great Mexican experience”

I stay here on a regular basis when I come from Miami, FL to see family in Acapulco. The location is great for experiencing the "real" Mexico in the traditional part of town. The owner will do almost anything to accommodate the guests and they now have free high speed wireless so you don't have to leave the property to get on the internet.

The hotel is what I would call nice Mexican and they have suites with kitchens and multiple bedrooms that can accommodate large families so this is a great place for groups traveling together.

A very good choice if you want a pleasant Acapulco experience at a reasonable price.

“I felt like family”

What can I say about a hotel that makes you feel like you are visiting the home of a family member. From the ladies at the front desk to the young men who guard the gate at night. Everyone greets you with a smile. At the Etel Suites, you never have to worry if something needs fixing. These people get it done right away (unlike most other places). The owner, Senora Telvi is as gracious as it gets. One day when it poured rain Telvi was concerned that myself and another guest weren't able to travel into town to eat. So she ordered pizza and brought from her home a bottle of French wine. We sat in the front lobby for most of the day listening to the rain, talking about Acapulco, and ultimately life in general. Because wine will do that to you don't you know. This turned out to be one of the most enjoyable days of my vacation. What else needs to be said. Great prices, great views, great hot water pressure in the showers, AC, and first class service. I have been visiting Acapulco twice a year for many years and intended to experience different hotels. Now, I don't know. The Etel Suites is hands down the best budget priced hotel in town.

“Etel rules!”

This was our second trip as group leaders and we weren’t disappointed. Just like the first time, we found the place clean, roomy and comfortable.
In this occasion we had more chance to enjoy the pool that turned to be perfect for a quick swim after spending the day out!
But what really makes this place unique is the service, they make you feel welcome since the very first second of your arrival, and it goes on until you leave the hotel. Owner is the nicest and her staff tries hard to fulfill all your needs, always going beyond their obligation.
When you travel with a group of people, it’s always hard to find a place that makes everyone happy, but we truly hit the nail on the head by choosing Etel Suites, because all of our customers ended up satisfied and even thankful!!! Gotta love it!!!

“I loved this hotel”

I generally travel budget when in ACA but this time I decided to spend a little more and have a view. Hotel Etel Suites filled that bill for me perfectly. I had a small suite with dresser space and in the bathroom shelves and hanging space with hangers you could actually remove from the rod. I had one double bed, a single bed, small sofa, chairs, coffee table, cable TV, a/c, ceiling fan, full kitchen and a large terrace with table and chairs and amazing views of the bay, the mountains and little bit of the pacific, fresh flowers and a couple of plants were replaced several times during my stay all for the offseason rate of 400 pesos a night. The hotel is not fancy but clean and the furnishings and bedding were in very good condition (everything had an almost new feel to it) and is very clean and the owner is wonderful. When I became ill, she insisted on having her sister bring me some medicine and then would not let me replace it when I was feeling better.

You also get a garrafon of water in your room for 20 pesos and they will replace it when empty. A real bargain as far as I am concerned. I hate carrying those 10 liter bottles up every few days. Also I don´t have to dance around in the shower trying to find that one stream of water to rinse the soap out of my hair. Budget minded travelers will understand what I am talking about. The pictures on their website are accurate and will have to do for now. This site will not let me upload any pictures right now.

With my amazing view though, I thought I would be in for a treat of fireworks displays at least several times during my stay. Hopefully, it was the season--I didn't see one firework go off in 11 nights. How can that happen in ACA?

I will return to this wonderful hotel again and again and again . . .
