“more than i expected!”

Las Torres Gemelas Suite/Beach Resort

I'm really sorry to hear that some people had bad experiences at Las Torres. It's a very very old installation but while I was there, it looked like they made quite a bit of dough during spring break 'cause they were renovating EVERYTHING. Honestly, I LOVED our room. It was awesome, spacious, great AirConditioning, clean kitchenette. It's true the maids didn't over clean but they did what's necessary. My husband and I didn't go for the all inclusive, but we wished we did for basic necessities like vegetables. It seems that fruit and vegetables in Acapulco are all rotten! It was better at the buffet but I heard the actual meals were nasty.

The private beach is a disgrace but hey, NO PROBLEM, just head out to the strip walk for 3 minutes and you're on the rest of the beach/bay. The so-called private beach is basically a closed off section were really aggressive waves! So, avoid it, or stick to the pools.

Across the street from the hotel (and pretty much at every second corner) u'll find a restaurant called 100%NAtural. Even if you have an all inclusive, DO EAT THERE. It's super healthy, mostly vegetarian, and the waiter Fernando became a great friend of ours and we noticed the service improved drastically as we became friends. Try the CONGO or OASIS cocktails there... mmm! Only 25 pesos = $2,50.

You can exchange your money anywhere, from U.S.D to Pesos is the best deal, and the rates are pretty much the same everywhere. There's an exchange office just inside the hotel, and the guy who owns it is really sweet.

free calls to Canada & US, average of 5-20 minutes a day depending on whether people are waiting, but if nobody's there, u can talk forever), and u can use the internet as often as u want (20 minutes at a time) , the safety deposit box is included no matter what and its such a relief having one (mucho importante!!) The staff are nice, respectable, and stay outta your hair.

I REALLY LIKED THIS HOTEL... but clearly, it depends on the person and what you're looking for.

“Won't stay here again”

Las Torres Gemelas Suite/Beach Resort

The food is disgusting, and they put (looks like) uncooked hotdogs in everything. The smell coming from the restaurant is enough to make you not want to step foot in there. It is near impossible to get a lounge chair unless you get up at about 6 am and reserve it with your towel, and on the weekends the pool is full of visiting Mexican families because apparently one of the towers is vacationers and the other is for Mexican people. I had no problem with this but there ended up being hardly any room in the pool. It is near impossible to swim at the beach, it is closed in by rocks on either side and sometimes in the afternoon the waves were so big that they crashed in to the wall. It is not a beach that you can lay out on, we ended up going down the street to the public beach when we wanted to go swimming. The rooms were clean and new sheets and towels were brought everyday, although I woke up one day while the maid was in our room, she didn't buzz or anything which kind of creeped me out. They didn't really clean up the room, they didn't take any empty cups from the counter, just did the bare minimum. If you are going to stay here, I would suggest not going all inclusive, since the rooms are bareable for sleeping and it is a great location.

“Las Torres Gemelas should not be offered by Sunquest”

Las Torres Gemelas Suite/Beach Resort

On Jan 23/07 we travelled to Acapulco with Sunquest. We were booked at the
Las Torres Gemelas.
Prior to booking the Las Torres Gemelas, we were aware the hotel was not a
5 star property.
However, upon arriving at the hotel and trying to check in, we had to refuse
6 different rooms shown to us as each hotel room was in total disrepair.
- broken/damaged furniture
- filthy mattress/grey-worn out linens
- rusted/dirty fridges
- broken locks on doors, could open door just by leaning on it.
- patio doors-no lock and ridiculous junk for a chair
- rooms were dirty-lack of maintenance/cleaning.
- no light bulbs in lamps
No one from Sunquest was available to assist us.
A lot of people were complaining about the condition of the hotel.
In order not to ruin our vacation, we had no choice but to book into
the Hyatt Regency at an additional cost of $2,066.47 less some restaurant
charges.(copy of bill attached)
We feel we should be partially re-imbursed as we incurred additional
costs as we had to book into the Hyatt due to the unacceptable
condition of the Las Torres Gemelas.
Las Torres Gemelas should not be offered by Sunquest as it is only a 1 star hotel
at its present condition.

“To be used as a dorm”

Torres Gemelas is ok is you want a place to sleep. I spended most of my time in the old Acapulco and la Caleta. Acapulco is a wonderful place to be at.

Alot of the people that are staying there it is because they bought a place mostly italians (they were not very polite). As a person who only stayed there for a week I can tell you I did not feel welcome. I was sitting by the pool on a chair when one of them came and tried to take the chair that i was sitting on. If you are not part of the click forget about it.

The pools were ok abit small since it was most of the time over crowded. On the week end it was full of mexican from Mexico city enjoy the warm sun with their family it was a real delight to look at the kids having fun.

The beach is not the best being between rocks it often made the waves stronger then elsewhere, I do not recommend swimming there with small children or simply with unexperienced swimmers. To go to the beach you have to go down very steeped stairs and dont expect the hotel worker who are sitting down on the stairs to get up so you can be near the wall. People working at the beach are not the most friendly people.

Langage was never a problem in town shopping and restaurants, eventhough I dont speak spanish and alot of them were not able to speak english or french but we always found the way to understand each other. (I even shopped for sandals since mine broke and it was a 14 years old who answered me I showed her what i wanted told her I was a size 9 and looked on a chart and im a size 26 in MEX ) even made her laugh abit monkeying around to make myself understand. :)

Mexicans has a wonderful culture is worth discovering.

I did the crystal bottom boat ride we dont see anything abit of fish here an there but i thought we would see more but the ride was nice and a cooler breeze then at shore.

It has been my 15th time to Acapulco and this time I went to sprend the ashes of my dad I will return to this wonderful City but NEVER to the Torres Gemelas I learnt that la Caleta was the way to go for me very family oriented.

I thought I've seen it all from bad to worse... It is a place to sleep nothing more

“Survivable for a weekend, just”

Las Torres Gemelas Suite/Beach Resort

Jan 22, 2007

First the positives - the pool area is kept clean, but is quite small for the number of people.
- it is centrally located

Now the negatives- it took three attempts to get a room, the first one did not lock properly, the second was in the parking. Finally took the third. The rooms are a reasonable size but that is the only positive. The furnishings are very tatty, the kitchenette is disgusting. The shower gave hot water but the cold water didn't reach the showerhead so had seconds to get as shower as it warmed up.

The reception staff were generally unhelpful.

So all in all never again
