The Qualton Club was just fine (07-14 Feb. 2003)! I have stayed here 2 times prior and had great experiences! It is a very acceptable resort offering the expected amenities with a staff that was very accommodating! The hotel area is nice enough to make you never want to leave. But dont do it! Seeing Acapulco is an absolute MUST! This is a city where you can run the full gambit: Outrageously crazy-stupid fun to calm, relaxed ocean side resorts (Pie de la Questa, to Play las Glorias) where tourists are the minority! I have been to Acapulco 12 times (first time when I was 25) and I simply love her! However, if you are looking for a pristine, clean and beautiful resort area or are on vacation to take in nature with Blue Lagoon expectations, DO NOT GO to Acapulco. Acapulco is older Mexico put on the destination map by the likes of Johnny Weissmuller, John Wayne, Red Skelton, Humphrey Bogart and etc. She is an aged Diva only slightly past her prime but still able to hang with the best of them! If you can appreciate an area with history, nostalgia, swanky bars and a decided LACK of the over-rated, drunken kiddy scene (i.e. Can Cun), then Acapulco will be right for you. Beware though; this destination is not for the meek or the demanding arrogant know-it-all, want-it-all-for-nothing traveler. If this is you, better to just stay home. Otherwise, relax, appreciate, enjoy, take it ALL in and you will have a warm, sunny, and simply wonderful time!
