We stayed here July 11-18. Two adult couples. This is a great vaule hotel. Be advised that this property is not what Americans typically would rate as a better property. Our entire stay we heard maybe 4 other guests that spoke English. it was quite nice, actually! Apparently this place is more popular with the Nationals.
We opted for the all-inclusive plan that included meals and beverages. For not that much more per night it was a good deal. We ate breakfast there every morning and several dinners. They gave us a special menu, but in comparing it to the other menue, it was basically the same. Because it didnt cost much more we were able to eat out at some other restaurants.
The Mexican Fiesta was fun. No, not a Broadway show, but very entertaining and worth going to.
When taking care of any kind of business at the front desk, please remember, this is Mexico. They are not on the same time restraints that we Americans are. Be patient as this is their culture, not ours. Even though they spoke English, it is limited, but they can understand better than speaking it.
One downside is that at night you can hear the bass of the music at "Joes Crabshack next door to the south of the property. Request rooms towards the North. We were right in the middle and it was not too bad. i took a sound machine and when that was turned on it was no big deal.
Our bed was quite comfortable. It is worth the extra $10 or $12 per night for the larger ocean view room. Especially if you have children with you.
If you plan on spending any time at the palapas on the beach, a guy will come out to get you drinks or snacks. Be sure and tim them several dollars at the beginning and they will take care of you. This is the same for the restaurant. We were treated like royalty and noticed that not many other people even tipped at all.
