We Stayed at Royal Villas Janaury 7th to 14th, 2008. We went through RCI so AI is mandatory. But it was SOOO worth it. We were on the 8th floor of the hotel. So we had a huge balcony that overlooked the pool and the ocean, it was so peaceful at night. Yeah you could hear Gus Gus. But its not like it was all night long. Only til about 2am. But it never bugged any of us. I went with my Husband, sister in law, brother in law, mother in law and father in law. We all had a blast. The only thing that I hate about Mazatlan is Joe's Oyster Bar. If you go there beware and keep track of your drinks. The screwed us over and we paid way to much. The were charging us 150 pesos per drink. That's 15 american dollars for one stinkin drink. I will never go back to that bar again. Let me tell you. And Im pretty sure we paid our tab more than once there. So just be careful... But Mazatlan as a whole and the resort were fantastic...

We stayed at the Royal Villas January 7-14th 2008 and we had a blast. My sister-in-law works for RCI so she got us the room. There was 6 of us total and we all got the AI and it was great. Our room was awsome, it was clean and they always made sure our fridge was stocked with what we needed. We loved the bar staff there too. Jesus was awsome and so friendly. We did alot of sun soaking and they always made sure we had a drink i never had such great friendly service. It was me my hubby, brother, sister-in-law, mom and step dad and we had a week of no kids and i was very relaxing. I recommend this resort to anyone wanting to have fun and relax. Next year we are going back and taking the boys they would love the water slide. I recommend the All Inclusive for anyone wanting to drink and not worry about tabs. I definently drank my fare share and maybe my mom's too :)

Hello, I stayed at the Royal Villas through RCI last November and I wanted to get away for a long weekend, so I decided to go back to Royal Villas. (2/28 - 3/2) I was a bit concerned because this time I booked the room through Orbitz rather then a time share, but the service and the room were excellent. Also the service was great as usual. In all honesty I'd have to say the waiters were probably not as prompt about asking if I needed anything as they were when I was there on the all inclusive, but they were very attentive and nice!! I stayed in room 209, which was a jr suite. I would highly recommend this room. Actually rooms 205 through 215 all share a HUGE balcony, so other people were able to walk by your back door, if this is something that would bother you then make sure you ask for a room above the 2nd floor. For myself I thought it was great. I was traveling solo, so I was able to get to know my neighbors a bit; and also able to walk out to the front of the balcony where it was ocean front. Also the balcony on the 2nd floor has room enough to put the lounge chair in the sun or in the shade, which is an added bonus. I wil definately go back for long weekends in the future and I already have a week booked thru RCI in November 2008. I did notice though the age of the people staying at the resort was either older (say over 50) or couples with very young children. For the most part it's a small resort for the over 50 crowd. I'm 45 so it didn't bother me at all. And as I said everyone, guests, hotel employee's etc... were all very nice. Also I was NOT bothered at all by time share people. I said from the very beginning I wasn't interested and I was never approached again. Thanks Royal Villas for another great visit!! See you very soon!! Julie

we are heading back to the Royal Villas on Saturday, March 8th. We have been staying at the Royal Villas for the last three years now. We have a family with two teenagers, 12 and 15. We also take along another family with kids 6 and 12. The folks at Royal Villas have always treated us great. The rooms are always kept nice and clean for us (tip the maid, it helps!). We love the pool area and love having Jesus and the guys wait on us. They work very hard serving us as fast as possible. We always get the Palenque suite and have tons of room. We cook in the kitchen once in a while and then go out to get most other nights.
We feel right at home at this resort!!!!
