Torres is a wonderful place to spend a week.
Their restaurant is OK. But with a full kitchen, why bother (except for happy hour!)? The Mega supermarket (and Gigante and others) is very much like a huge supermarket chain. You can get all the basics (including Tequila and margarita mix) there. The Central Market is a great place to get vegetables. Ripened on the vine, in the sun, their veggies are so much taster than our produce. There is a beach vendor that sells shrimp and mahi mahi every morning. It is super fresh!
The rooms are nice. Unlike many other places in Mexico, the beds are very comfortable by US standards.
We had a ground floor ocean front unit in building A. The noise from the construction next door was so loud that we slept in the Murphy bed in the ocean front living room. If that would be a problem you’re better off in Building C or (even better) D. Some of the units in Building B were probably exposed to the construction sounds in the front living room and rear bedroom. That could be unpleasant. The construction was full swing in Jan ’07. It’ll probably quite down in a few months.
The pool is very nice. The grounds are extensive and very well maintained. If you are looking for a slightly out of the way place to escape to, this is it.
