“Maintenance issues ruined the end of our holiday”

We were enjoying ourselves and thought the hotel was pretty good - until my 4 yr old son cut his toe badly IN THE POOL . There are pool tiles missing - lots of them, and the edges are sharp. He could not go back in the water after that which put a damper on the rest of our vacation. My husband also got stuck in the elevator and they had to force the door open and crawl out. Also, I left a necklace in the room when we checked out and even though I realized this the next morning - it was not returned to me. We thought the staff was very friendly and the food not bad - but they have some serious maintenance issues. Even though we reported my sons injury - they only replaced a couple of the tiles ???? Have your children wear aqua socks in the water - if we had been warned about the danger we would have.

“Great Staff, Loved Every Minute”

Hola Puerto Vallarta Club & Spa

My fiancee and I stayed at the Hola Resort for a week in late March 2008. I had read the reviews prior to going, and was unsure of what to expect, but once we got to the resort we had a wonderful time. We arrived before check-in time, but the bellboys kept our bags safe, so we got our bracelets from the front desk and went out to the pool. When we did get into our room it was clean, large, and had a more than adequate balcony for 2 people.
The servers are GREAT and are always around by the pool and the beach to get you drinks (rarely did we even have to go to the bar ourselves). We enjoyed the beach restaurant for simple lunch items (burgers, pizza, hotdogs, nachos), which we often brought back to our seats by the pool.
One tip, if you want to get a chair by the pool (especially with an umbrella), get out there early and put a towel and a book or something on it. After the first day I realized this is what most people were doing, so I got up around 7:30, went out and put items on the chairs we wanted, then went back and slept for another hour before breakfast!
The outdoor "rooftop" restaurant (I think its called the Sunset Grill) was great for breakfast and dinner, as was the indoor one below it. We did not eat at the Gourmet restaurant because we waited until the last day to make reservations (our fault) and did not realize there was a Mexican Fiesta night and it was closed. However, the food at the Fiesta night was great, as was the large buffet-style service at the beach party.
The staff were definitely the best part of this hotel. They were always friendly and smiling, whether they were serving you drinks or sweeping the floors. The activities staff are very outgoing and are great at getting people involved in pool and beach activities.
We went into town a few times, but mainly stayed at the hotel, as the service was always great (and the drinks/food were free!)
IThis was my first trip (fiancees 2nd) to Mexico, and I am glad we stayed at the Hola.

“Our Favorite”

Hola Puerto Vallarta Club & Spa

We have vacationed at All Inclusives ( including 5 and 6 star resorts) in Cancun, Cozamel, Riveria Maya, Punta Cana, and Puerto Vallarta. Of them all The Hola in Puerto Vallarta is our favorite.

We stayed at the Hola from January 20 through January 31st of this year. This was our eleventh visit to the Hola and we have seen the many improvements made by the new owner.

The Hola is a small older hotel and therefore cannot compete with larger and newer hotels in amenities. . However, due to it's reasonable rates and proximity to town, you can enjoy Puerto Vallarta, the many activities offered, and some of the many restaurants available in the area.

If you are looking for the friendliest and most helpful staff , clean rooms , large beach, average food for an A-I , and spectacular views of the bay, city and mountains then you will find this at the Hola .

The short movie by Nacho Cadena on the internet is accurate in describing this hotel.

All the negative reviews must be written by people who could not be satisfied anywhere.

Coincidentally we are returning to Hola in May for another ten night stay .

“Most Enjoyable!”

Hola Puerto Vallarta Club & Spa

We had a great vacation!
The Hola was close to downtown, which was one of the reasons we chose to stay there. $5.00 cab fare.
The room was nice! Big bathroom! Great water pressure! The maids do a great job-we tipped $5.00 a day.
The buffet restaurants are your typical fare. We didn't take advatage of them- opting to go out most of the time. The Fiesta Snack Bar had some awesome choices! They made fajitas, natchos, fried fish and chicken, salads, awesome fries, and just ask for guacamole- it's not advertised-but it's there and it's great!
We brought travel mugs and filled them with coffee each morning from the big urn at the entrance of the restaurant. I just asked the hostess for a plastic plate and brought pastries up to our room.
Bring your work-out wear! The gym had everything we needed as far as machines. Classes are available.
The Wednesday night Beach Party had a huge spread of food! Must go!! Great show! Don't miss it!
If you can- have dinner next door at "Le Petit France". Ask if you're on the list and you will eat for free! We paid $22.00 for a bottle of wine and tipped the same for the most amazing meal!
On to downtown- eat at Burros on the beach. Vendors come up to you while you're eating and drinking the best marguaritas ever!
Joe Jack's Fish Shack-best mojitos(hence the pic!) We went twice- try the shrimp tacos! Unbelievable!
The Rythum of the Nights Tour was amazing!!
We went deep sea fishing and caught some serious fish!
All round great vacation!
We will stay at the Hola again!

“Mis lead infromation about HOLA”

Hola Puerto Vallarta Club & Spa

Hola Resort - Puerto Vallarta, do not listen to the video message given from Hola management. They did not spend much money on renovations.

Stayed there 3/28 thru 4/2 of 2008. The rooms were old, actually junky, very small balcony. The food was terrible, it was all enclusive, however made arrangements to eat out and found vgreat restrauants. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Pool is small, no swim up bar. I saw a activities director however did not announce activites throughout the day. The only part that was excellent was the location and beach area. I've stayed many places in Puerto Vallarta which had class and much beeter upkeep and grounds. everything here is old and tired.
