Upon check-in had some issues with the reservation; although we had booked for four the front desk claimed there was only a reservation for one person and wanted to charge us extra. Had my friend not been hit by flying staples (the manager accidently flung them at her while he was trying to load them into the stapler) this issue would have taken longer to be resolved (we may have ended up paying $32 extra per person).

Another reviewer was right - there is a musty smell in the hall. Luckily that doesnt continue into the rooms. The rooms are clean, the balcony had a great view, the beds were alright.

No ice machine so we always had to call room service for ice, the housekeeping comes at odd hours of the day, the elevators and hallways were not ventilated (so they were super warm).

However, the pool was fantastic and the swim up bar had good drinks and excellent fajitas. They had enough chairs while we were there and the beds looked comfortable (for an extra 200 pesos a day). We enjoyed the restaurant by the pool for breakfast and the fresh squeezed OJ is perfect!

The guy selling tours at the towel desk offers discounts, dont be afraid to bargain!!!!

All in all it was a good experience, I'd go back!

Went to Puerto Vallarta for an overnighter. The Fiesta Americana Hotel was a great choice to stay at. The lobby area is beautiful, the rooms (Fiesta Club King) plain but very nice and the service excellent. It was definately worth paying a little bit more for the "Club" room. The only drawback for me was that our room (919) was directly across from the elevators. The noise kept me up at night for a short time.

Water sports, parasailing, horseback riding, golf and more are all nearby. There's an ATM located in the hotel also. Taxi to & from the airport is $8 USD each way. Taxi to downtown is $5 USD each way. The Blue & White Line city buses are .50 USD ($1 for 2 people as they don't give change), no transfers.
We didn't exchange any money, used the American dollar everywhere. Carry a lot of $1's when you go, for tips.

My husband and I stayed here from 5/23 - 5/26. We stayed on the 8th floor (there are 9) in room 808. The room was very clean, a/c worked great, and the view was wonderful. There is a fridge stocked with certain beverages & liquor. There is room to add your own...which we did.

The staff was AMAZING! Anything and everything was taken care of if we asked. I requested a bottle of sparkling wine and ballons to in the room upon our arrival...and it was (husbands b-day).

The hotel has a wonderful pool with a swim-up bar. Great beach area with a lot of lounge chairs. They also have the beach-beds you can rent for $20/day.

Parasailing is on the beach - which we did and loved! It was $45.00 each and well worth it.

Cab ride from airport - $18.00. (cross bridge - $6.00)
Cab ride to airport - $6.00

Cab ride to downtown was about $6.00. It is about a 10 minute ride. There is a lot places to eat and drink in the downtown area.

Dislike...about the hotel...Nothing - about the propery area - I did not like the people on the beach who sale things (hats, t-shirts, jewlery, etc). I found it to be annoying. They did not come up to the hotel pool area or on the hotels immediate property. They were literally right on the beach area before entering the ocean. They only asked once...."are you interested" but I became tired of saying NO. I would say there was about 8 of them.

Hotel is located across the street from a mall that has some shopping, a grocery store, and McDonalds.

Bottom line - we WILL GO BACK to this hotel. It is not a 5 star, but it is very comfortable and the staff make this heaven.

I asked several friends and searched websites for a good hotel that wasn't too expensive but I wanted to be pampered and this fit the bill. Originally I wanted an all inclusive but decided against it since I wanted to experience more of Puerto Vallarta. I decided on getting a club room at Fiesta Americana. The club room offers a continental breakfast and snacks during the day. You even get warm appetizers and wine in the evening. The hotel does offer meal packages for those who want to do the all inclusive deal.

When I walked into the hotel the large palapa took my breath away. The lobby was just beautiful. The club room is located on the 9th floor (the best floor I was told). The views were just phenomenal and the service was exceptional. I loved the turn down service at night. It really made me feel like I was in a 5 star resort.

I had snacks and drinks at the swim up bar and the service was great. I do recommend getting the Fiesta Americana massage on the beach. They had activities for children in the pool area so if you have kids this would be a great place for families too.

Puerto Vallarta is such a beautiful place be sure to see everything you can. The concierge service at the hotel can set you up with just about anything. They helped me make reservations at Le Kliff (another must see). Needless to say I highly recommend the Fiesta Americana. Great location, service and views.
