My husband and I really enjoyed this hotel. We did stay in the Grand section and had a lovely corner ocean view 1 bedroom suite. We found the pools lovely, especially the endless pool and the adults only pool. The swimup bar at the pool was being renovated but that was not a problem for us. Some reviews said the food was awful. We did not find that to be so. We did not get the all inclusive, so we ate our breakfast at the buffet and found it to be very good with lots of variety. Service was excellent. We usually ate a snack at the pool and then went downtown for dinner. We found the staff at the hotel to be very warm and friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again and again.

Wonderfull! Our stay was great. My Fiance and I stayed in Section 2. I can guarantee that if you stay in section 1, you are not going to enjoy your stay. The Grand Section is beautiful with great food and great top shelf drinks. I've stayed at 5 Diamond resorts before. This is not a Five Diamond but it's not too far off. You have to spend the extra few bucks and reserve in the Grand Section. All of the staff was very kind and curtious. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting puerto Vallarta.

My reasoning for going was to propose to my girl friend. I wanted something very special! I emailed Ivette there and told her what I had in mind and she made it happen for a small fee..... Check the pics! This Place is top notch in my book.

We just returned from Puerto Vallarta Plaza Pelicanos. Was nervous after reading the negative reviews. We found this to be a very nice place. The weather was perfect, Alex at the Concierge was always pleasant (Ricky Martin look alike), Rooms were cleaned daily, most of the people were very nice and helpful. Check-in went quick, we were in section II - Grand which was very nice. The grounds and pool were beautiful. In order to get a discount on the semi-inclusive (All inclusive did NOT include all Restaurants unless you went for a higher priced ALL INCLUSIVE) had to deal with a torturous 2 hour presentation for the discount. The buffet got old but the food was good. Saw a beautiful sunset, from our room. Walking through the Malecon was fun . Found great bargains at the Flea Market at the end of the Malecon. Though not much for kids to do outside of the resort unless they are very adventuous, The SeaLife Water Park was great fun for the kids. You are safe if you eat at the resort - a couple of friends did get sick from eating out in town but that can happen anywhere. Though there is always room for improvement. Definitely would return to the Plaza Pelicanos. P.S. lots of useful tips from this site were found from other reviews before our trip.

If you want a oceanview room you wont get it unless you attend a seminar for timesharing or pay alot extra. The ocean and all activities are a long walk way plus you have to go thru the lobby everytime and cross the street. The food was horrible. Been to alot of places this having the worst food. Waters are dirty and beaches rocky if you have a beach to walk on. No music at any of the pools. Will never go back. The only good thing about the whole place was the service of the staff was excellent, but that is not enough to make me ever go back.
