“Great stay at this hotel”

Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa

I had a May 10-14th stay at the Villa Premier.
I must say it is a very clean and hospitable hotel. I stayed in a standard king size room, though not large, found it to be the right size and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk staff to the pool staff, everyone I encountered was very friendly. Unsure of some of the reviews that found the staff indifferent as that was contrary to what I experienced.
Upon check in, was immediately offered a cool towel along with a glass of champagne. Was then escorted over for the five minute neck massage, all of this was a great way to unwind upon arrival to PV.
I picked the hotel for two main reasons, size of property(plus being adult only) along with location. I wanted a smaller hotel as opposed to the others more in the hotel zone.
You can easily walk to most parts of town from this hotel.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quieter hotel that offers expectional service.

“V.P. cater to your every whim”

Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa

May 15, 2008

The only thing wrong with the V.P. is that it will be hard to ever stay anywhere else!! I traveled solo to the VP in April/08 seeking peace and quiet and some spoiling and the VP did not disappoint. There was a mix of people from wedding groups to honeymooners to middle aged couples. All the people I met were very nice and friendly.

I woke each day to the sound of the waves combined with the sound of the pooside harp player playing Spanish music.

The pool is immaculately maintained (as is the rest of the hotel) with plenty of towels (no cards required to obtain a towel and no limit on the number of towels). Two carts are place on either side of the pool with plenty of towels, a variety of sunscreens, wide variety of current magazines and novels. Obtaining a poolside lounge chair at any time of the day is never a problem as the hotel places signs discouraging it. Great poolside snacks are available or you can walk a few steps to the poolside/oceanside restaurant for a more complete meal. The harp player plays until about 11:30 am. There were no hard partying noisy crowds or children making for a very peaceful environment.

The service throughout the hotel is exceptional. The front desk went to great lengths to assist me in cashing my foreign travelers checks. The poolside waiters remember your favorite drink from the day before. The restaurant waiters remember your name (as do most of the staff throughout) , how you like your coffee served and quickly appear to light your cigarette. Room service is amazingly quick (same amount of wait time as if you were in the restaurant). The maid service was also exceptional, leaving towel animals, fresh flowers, notes to wish you a good day, turn down service that was much more than just turn down as they also made sure garbages were emptied again and fresh towels if you had showered since morning service, etc. The butler will iron for you, pack or unpack, bring little extras, etc. The concierge brings up your rental DVD complete with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn.

The hotel offers a wide variety of meals with healthier and vegetarian options also available. I chose the all-inclusive plan and was glad that I did as this is the best option when traveling solo and every single thing I had from pool snacks to room service to the restaurants was fantastic. I went to one of the "show" dinners where they cook your food at your table while sitting by the ocean watching the sunset....fabulous!!

The decks are close to each other and I had a very nice couple on the deck next door who I enjoyed morning coffee and sunset chats with. The decks are lit until about 11 PM enabling you to read on your deck if you choose to.

I had one treatment (massage) at the hotel which was lovely, however, my one and only suggestion for this hotel would be that they lower their spa prices as they are way out of line for Puerto Vallarta. Everyone I met that used the spa agreed that they would have used it much more if their prices were more in line with the rest of PV. They were never busy and could have made more money on volume if they had more reasonable pricing. I had an 80 minutes massage for $176.00 (US) and went a few days later to one of my favorite PV spas (Venus) for a 75 minute massage for $40.00 (US) BIG difference in price.

The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished, clean and all have an ocean front view. The atmosphere of the hotel is friendly, not the slightest bit snooty and they really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

“puerto vallarta quick and easy from california”

Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa

4 of 5 stars
pasadena, ca

villa premiere can satisfy your needs in p.v. if you know what you want. my wife booked this through expedia.

what it has: capable exercise room, nice rooms, all adults, mostly couples, more middle agers, quiet and peaceful, view rooms, beds near pool area and on the beach to soak in the sun with your other, hammocks, good service, edge of downtown, close to the best carne asada taco stand "el cisne" (walk to main street, turn right, two blocks, turn right), close to supermarket "ley's" (get your own water/snacks/etc)

what it doesnt have: kids, singles, party atmosphere, multiple swim pools, games (you can go next door to the buenaventura, it's sister hotel to get your fix), variety of food, cheapeast price, proximity to zona romantica

pretty easy to get everywhere you need to go in p.v., with taxis or your own two feet.

first, they put us in a two double bed room 2111, and the beds weren't that comfortable. later we were moved to a king bed 2606, and much better. most the staff and service were very good. when things werent right, most did their best to make it right. one still need more training.

it's labeled as a boutique hotel, but it's not exactly quite there yet. other mega resorts have thousands of people, kids, noise and excitement all around. at first i thought it would be boring, but after staying a week, i have to admit that the serenity and peacefulness of the people, no kids running around, calm conversations, and people just there to relax and chill had a contagious effect on me.

p.v. highlights (gotta try it): marisma fish tacos (it's a trek from villa premiere, but oh so worth it), el cisne carne asada tacos (see above), metamorfosis day spa (angie and hilda rock!), fredy's tucan (good breakfast), fonda (run by an older couple that dont speak english, order pancakes AND egg entree for under $7!), playa los arcos (if youre in zona romantica they have the best bathrooms to use at any time), yelapa (a 40 minute boat ride to a quaint fishing town. not too much to see, but a nice getaway to see how local fishermen live)

“A Sparkling Little Jewel”

Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa

Apr 26, 2008
3/3 found this review helpful

At just under 100 rooms, this boutique property seduces and charms at every turn. The architecture here is an inviting blend of Mexican and Moorish styles, and the breezy Lobby area is punctuated by sparkling fountains.
You will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and a 5 minute neck and back massage, a really sweet touch. You'll also be asked which type of pillows you prefer, and which aromatherapy scent you would like your room to be freshened with.
You will then be escorted to your room, in my case a 'Spa Suite'. Though I was only on the 2nd level, my room had a gorgeous view over the tiny pool, palapa- roofed beachfront restaurant and beyond to the sparkling Pacific. The room was very well-appointed and paved in creamy beige marble. Decor was simple but elegant, and I really enjoyed the local artwork which lends a somewhat funky touch to the otherwise quiet decor.
The king bed was firm but comfortable, and dressed with impossibly white linen. Beyond the bed was a large counter area (perfect for enjoying a Room Service breakfast) equipped with a sink and a small fridge stocked with beer, soda and water. Past the bar was a lovely seating area, next to the tiny balcony. The bathroom exceeded expectations. It was clean, very well lit, and had a large shower as well as an enormous jacuzzi-for-two, above which a set of wooden shutters opened onto the room. An armoire opposite the bed housed a flatscreen television (viewable only from the bed), a CD / DVD player, and an easy-to-use safe. Robes and slippers are provided, as well as coffee makers in every room.
Also on the second floor was the entrance to a lovely little Spa. There is a small salon, and seperate Men's and Women's facilities complete with steam room and dry sauna. You will relax in an adjacent 'Chillout Room', and be served a warm herbal tea or perhaps a cleansing chloropyll drink. You'll then be escorted up a charming set of candle-lit stairs to the Treatment Rooms above. Prices are perhaps less than you might pay in the U.S., though still pricey with most 50 minute sessions running at around $125 or more.
There is also a well-equipped cardio / gym area, complete with ocean-view treadmills.
The pool area is lovely but a bit cramped. Many guests scurry down early in the morning to claim their favorite chaise lounge by placing books etc. on them. Management does their best to discourage this but it seems to be a losing battle. Beside the pool you will find wooden carts piled high with fluffy white towels, magazines in several languages, and even a rack of various sunscreens and lotions- another nice touch. At one end of the pool are 2 thatched-roof cabanas complete with suspended platform beds and privacy curtains. There are several cabanas right on the beach as well, though they do not offer much protection from the sun, as the ceilings are made of rows of twigs. A miniscule second dipping pool with a bar at one end sits between the small main pool and the beach...the perfect spot for sipping a cool Mojito. A poolside menu is available with a selection of lighter fare, and a full breakfast and lunch menu is available at above-mentioned open air restaurant.
There are two other restaurants, open only for dinner, as well. I opted for the 'all-inclusive' plan, and was very pleased I had chosen to do so. For less than $50 per day, I was free to eat and drink wherever and whenever I pleased, including ordering from a 24 hour Room Service Menu. The food was fine but certainly nothing to rave about. The high-end Mexican restaurant was particularly ordinary, except for the Guanabana Jelly (more like a set custard) which is a 'must try' for dessert. The adjacent Continental restaurant does a better job with both food and service, though prices are incredibly high if you have not chosen the all-inclusive option. The poolside restarant also opens on certain nights, the draw here is the beachfront location and tableside preparation of orders.
Service was casual but professional everywhere. The lovely Concierge staff will help you with any tour bookings etc. Wait staff are eager to please (Room Service was surprisingly efficient), and the Housekeepers are wonderful.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much. As a single traveler, I felt outnumbered by Honeymooners and couples celebrating a special Anniversary. However, my Vallarta mission was to unwind, and I found this spot the perfect place to do so. I very much appreciated the fact that no children are allowed here. I also loved the location- though the beach here is rocky (don't go to Vallarta for pristine beaches as you'll have a long cab ride away from central PV to reach one), I loved falling asleep to the sound of the crashing surf. I also enjoyed walking into town, the Malecon being only a few minutes away.
A few minor drawbacks were my tiny balcony and the occasional noise of adjacent jacuzzi tubs (in many rooms they are on the balcony rather than inside the room). If you can, splurge on a 'Master Suite', essentially a one bedroom suite with an enormous terrace complete with outdoor jacuzzi. Even the lowest category of room is spacious and well equipped. Overall, highly recommended!

“Great location, great facilities, good service”

Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa

Apr 20, 2008
5/5 found this review helpful

My wife and I stayed here for four nights during the first week of April. We stayed in a premiere suite which had a balcony, king bed, large bathroom with both shower/tub and jacuzzi, and a living room with a wet bar. The view of the beach was great; we really loved the sound of the waves. The room was very clean and comfortable.
We used the pool every day. Plenty of towels and chairs; good service from the bar staff -- very tasty margaritas!
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Malecon and the main commercial and dining areas. For us, this was close enough to walk everywhere. We took all of our meals at various PV restaurants.
The downside, as other reviewers have noted, is that the service delivered does not always match the service one might expect. Housekeeping skipped turndown service on two evenings. Also on our first night we asked the concierge to make a restaurant reservation and she did absolutely nothing. The desk was unstaffed and we just went to El Arrayan (great authentic Mexican food but you do need a reservation) when it opened.
On balance we were still very pleased with our stay and would stay there again.
