“A place to return to”

Eric and I stayed at villa David 7 nights. The view from our room was
crowned with a beautiful sunset every night. The first few mornings and nights were very quiet so we kept our balcony doors open all the time to enjoy the wonderful tropical breeze. For the other days, the noise from the construction site across from us was quite loud. However, we had the option to close the sliding doors and turn on the AC which took care of the noise. The Villa itself was kept very clean and was tastefully decorated in keeping with the spanish hacienda style of the house. The rooms were clean and we found our clothes folded and organized every day upon return from our daily excursions. The neighborhood felt friendly and very safe. Most every thing was within walking distance. Although walking up the hill was a task; but we saw it as our daily exercise or took a cab if we felt lazy. The daily breakfast was very good. It was a time to socialize and meet other guests. We recommend this Villa to anyone looking for a charming, confortable place in Puerto Vallarta.

My partner and I spent four nights here and were overwhelmed by Villa David's beauty and comfort. The location was great for us: we enjoyed walks around Villa David's charming neighborhood and the incredible sea and mountain vistas, seemingly at the turn of every street corner! The beach and nightlife are within easy walking distance (at least for those that take walks on occasion!). Taxis are always a convenient option.

We had a very early flight the morning of our departure and were unable to get a taxi to the airport. Our gracious host Bill saved the day by offering to drive us there.... at 5 am!

The professional house masseur, Alaberto, is highly recommended!

My partner and I stayed at Villa David in February 2007. The guesthouse is located on the old part of town, close to the cathedral, very charming but quite steep hills and many steps. The rooms are arranged around an inner courtyard almost completely take over by a pool. During our visit of four days we did not see anyone using the pool. The rooms are basic but pleasant, decorated with traditional Mexican style decor. Some have balconies with nice views although the owner cautions about touching the very close electricity cables in front of them. The public areas for sunning are small but pleasant. Breakfast is included.

We probably will not staying here again mostly because the noise heard every morning from the captive parrots on the patio. The 3 Pomeranian dogs could get loud at times.

“Great little B & B”

Villa David

Dec 7, 2006

It's been about a year since our second stay at Villa David and we wish we could go back this year. Bill and the house boys took great care of us, and Bill's breakfasts are something to look forward to. Even though the house is up a fairly steep walk and not by the beach, the location was excellent for enjoying the downtown area and soaking up the real Mexico we wanted to experience. We were lucky to be there during a huge religious festival (patron saint?) and the streets were full of life for days (I miss the churros and flans!). The neighborhood may not be up to the fancy standards of Beverly Hills types, but it is perfectly safe and the view from the top of the house is fantastic.

“Superb Experience”

I recently returned from a 12 day stay in Puerto Vallarta (PV) and at the Villa David Bed and Breakfast property. This was my first visit to PV and I must say that this port side town has now become a planned destination for me for the future. Villa David is located in an "Old World" Mexican neighborhood which is absolutely safe, accessible and surrounded by other residential properties; including, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor's former homes less than a stone's throw from the property. I found myself simply walking the cobblestoned streets on many occasions just to get a feel for the adjoining neighborhoods, the lifestyles of the people of PV and the sheer enjoyment of knowing that I am experiencing the fullness of the both the touist side and the actual inhabitant's side of the PV life. During my entire stay, there was never a time when I felt less than safe in this neighborhood or anywhere else in PV that I visited and I walked daily in the late evening and early morning hours to and from the Villa David location throughout my entire time in PV.

The Villa David location has approximately 10 rooms that are rented to visitors and I inspected quite a number of them during my stay in PV. Each was absolutely immaculate and the appointments were very tastefully implemented in each room. The service staff was unquestionably helpful and dedicated and made sure that my accomodations on each day were spotless, fresh and enjoyable. Breakfast is provided (Bed and Breakfast) each morning if one likes and with that a lively interplay between other guests is also included, if one so desires. I found this most enjoyable as one could share the former day's experiences and the present day's plans if so desired, as well as, receive recommendations for areas and/or restaurants to visit while in PV.

The overall take home message to anyone who is interested in visiting PV and staying at this Villa is to understand that you are in another country--Mexico; not, Las Vegas or some other sort of typical American city. With that obviously understood, and if you are truly interested in visiting a Mexican City that is full of old world charm, nice beaches, friendly people, great eating experiences, and a host of shopping venues (traditional and non-traditional) to explore; then, staying at Villa David while in PV is a very smart choice. The Villa is immaculate, large, yet private, and each room is complete with its own bathroom, cable, DVD player and there is a library of movies from which one can choose if so desired. The central courtyard is beautiful and is open to all guests to enjoy with a beautiful pool and sitting areas are stationed throughout the property from the ground floor to the rooftops! Yes, rooftops, as there are more than one to choose from. There is a jacuzzi rooftop, and another that sits high above the villa--both provide wonderful views to the bay that are wonderful to look at under the evening sky.

Bottom Line for me: I am already arranging my calendar to revist the PV area; but, I am also planning my visit to stay at Villa David once again.

Have a great time in PV and if you want a carefree Bed and Breakfast experience while you visit this town, you may wish to consider Villa David too, and let this property be your home away from home while you enjoy your time in this "Old World" city.

Recommendation: Highly and without any reservations!
