Wow! The Wife and I spent 7 nights here in June. This place is just incredible. The entire staff was very friendly. Josefina picked us up at the airport which avoided all the chaos of a tourist airport. The Hotel is just beautiful! So much detail and attention is put into everything. It's hard to even call it a Hotel. It feels so much more like someone's private vacation home that you have been invited to.

Josefina and Ricardo are extremely nice and warm people. We enjoyed chatting with them. By the end of the week I felt like I had known them for years. The owner Scott was there and he was extremely nice and even showed us around Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. I enjoyed having the resident dogs on site. I felt like they added character and even a sense of protection while there.

The Pool was incredible and the food was even better! Everything I ate was at least very good. The Chile Rellenos, Shrimp, Mahi Mahi & Steak are all Excellent! Prices are very reasonable. This was the best food I’ve ever had on vacation.

We Stayed in Room 6 which has a great view with outdoor shower but no A/C. We knew staying in a room in June without A/C would be hot be we wanted the view. It took a night or two to get use to not having A/C But with a few large fans it worked out fine (We turned down no less than 3 offers to move to a A/C room if we weren't happy without A/C)

Gecko's are all over this part of Mexico and I found them to be a very cute lizard that add a bit of fun to watch at night by the bar.

To address a previous post- the Music they were playing at the bar was perfect and at just the right volume - Nice background Music

We took the bike ride down to Barra de Potosi. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a little bit of adventure. I recommend leaving early in the morning due to the sun beating down.

I love walking on the Beach and Playa Blanca is very secluded. During most of our walks we would not see a single person on the beach.

We Spent most of our time at the Hotel and loved every minute of it. Without a Doubt this was the best vacation we have ever taken. I can honestly say I don't have a single complaint about Hotel Las Palmas and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a romantic or relaxing vacation.

“Little Hotel That Could”

Hotel Las Palmas

Apr 11, 2008

We just returned from an awesome week at Hotel Las Palmas on Playa Blanca in Zihuatanejo. This is by far the most charming B & B /hotel we have ever frequented anywhere in Mexico or the Caribbean! One reason is their staff. They are absolutely wonderful, and go out of their way on a daily basis to make your stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible. In addition to the human staff, there is the 4-legged contingent, consisting of sweet Paloma, assertive Pistola, and quiet Kitty Kitty, who are true fixtures at this place. They certainly made our time at the Hotel Las Palmas more enjoyable and we miss them already!

The food at the hotel is fresh and delicious and fairly low in calories without any compromise in taste. The margaritas are the best we’ve ever had anywhere.

We loved taking long walks on the beach shortly after sunrise and right before sunset. We met a few people from the neighboring condos and houses along the way, but for the most part the area is isolated and perfect for solitude.

The surf, although rough, is great for boogie boarding, and I had a great time indulging in this activity.

My suggestion to those considering a trip to Zihua is to run not walk to the best little hotel that could! Once you go, you’ll want to come back again and again to this little jewel on Mexico’s Pacific coast!

My husband I just returned from 10 days of the best vacation of our lives. From the time we arrived until we departed, we were treated as though we were a wonderful combination of honored guests and old friends. Josefina and Ricardo could not have been more accomodating and helpful. Not only did they meet our every need, they took us into Zihuatanejo on several of their trips - and Josefina even showed us several of her favorite stores. We ate wonderful meals at the hotel - the fish was fresh and well prepared, the corn tortillas were soft and warm, the margaritas were excellent and the wine selection was very good. The best part was that I didn't gain any weight - this place is magic! The hotel is small enough to make it easy to get to know the other guests and also enjoy your privacy. As we fell asleep every night, we calculated how long we could stay there if we liquidated all of our assets. Unfortunately, it would never be long enough in this paradise. We will return!

“My Favorite Place. EVER.”

This was our second stay at Las Palmas. It was all we remembered and more. The staff was wonderful. The food outstanding. The views fantastic. The drinks perfect.
This time we stayed in room #2, which had air conditioning that we didn't even need! February was a great time to be there. There was a wonderful ocean breeze; I was even chilly a couple nights. We had a great porch, and enjoyed coffee there in the morning when Oran brought a pot of fresh coffee and milk per our request at 7:30. We also enjoyed using the IPOD docking station, although we felt a bit silly as the sound from the waves was so soothing.
Showers there are great, albeit cold. The water was not as hot as I would have liked it, but the spa quality soap and shampoo and outdoor experience are outstanding.
We enjoyed our chats with the staff once again. Oran and Jeronomo were around the most and were great. They are great Spanish tutors. They will do whatever they can to make sure you ahve a great trip.
The only disappointment was that one night virtually everyone had the night off. We were given a ride into Ixtapa for dinner but had to take a cab back. When we got back, it was a ghost town! We wanted a drink and ice cream! We couldn't find anyone and ended up getting our own drinks and writing them down for the staff to bill us, but didn't have luck with the anticipated dessert. Of course we understand they need a night off, but it was a disappointment nonetheless since we only had three nights there.
There were two highlights of the trip this time. One was taking the bikes into Barra. It was so much fun! Trying to remember how to ride a bike as an adult was its own adventure, not to mention riding past bulls and dogs and such beautiful scenery. Then we got to Barra and someone recognized our bikes and offered us a boat ride around the lagoon for $5 per person. It was for almost an hour and was great! Definitely a must do.
The other highlight was on our last day. We stood on the beach for over an hour watching whales. Whales splashing and playing in the ocean. It was fantastic. A perfect moment in my life.
I love everything about this hotel. I look forward to many more visits with Josephina, Ricardo, Oran, and Jeronomo.
