We just returned from a 10 night stay at Cinco Sentidos (Room 4), and it was a lovely, peaceful place. Living in San Francisco, we were not used to the heat in Zihua, and were very glad that the air conditioning in the room was up to the task, especially at night. This place is very clean, quiet, beautiful rooms and view, and wonderfully hospitable. Heiko will do everything he can to make your stay exactly what you want it to be. It is a short walk down to La Ropa beach, and a short cab ride into town. The other great thing about this place is the resident cat, Loco. He is so sweet, and if you bring him your restaurant leftovers (esp. shrimp tails) he may even snuggle up for a nap with you. Also great is watching the birds build a nest just a few feet from the front desk.

We stayed at Cinco Sentidos with our son and his girlfriend and all loved this hotel. Our rooms (3 and 4) were beautifully decorated and the view out to the bay was breathtaking. The pool area and gardens were very well looked after - the pool was always spotlessly clean. Heiko was wonderful - very efficient - reserving good tables for us at restaurants, organising a very enjoyable fishing trip, summoning taxis in 30 seconds, the list goes on. He is very humorous , always ready to have a chat but we never found that he intruded - a very solicitous host. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband said he had never felt more relaxed! The climb up the hill in the heat can be a struggle but it's worth it. This hotel is a gem and it's tempting not to tell anyone about it! We will definitely return soon.

Staying at Hotel Cinco Sentidos was part of the best vacation I've ever been on. The week before I arrived in Zihuatanejo I had been climbing high volcanoes all over central Mexico, so I was pretty worn out, and Cinco Sentidos provided the perfect relaxation I needed. Upon arriving, Heiko noticed that I was tired and could use a drink, and he immediately made me a rum and squirt, which hit the spot. That became a tropical favorite drink of mine. Heiko is a great guy, and will do anything he can to make your vacation perfect. He did all the stuff other people have talked about...recommended restaurants, called cabs, etc., but what really made Cinco Sentidos stand out from the rest was the personal touch. The pools were magnificent, the rooms were spotless, the drinks were flowing, and the conversations with Heiko and his staff were hilarious. Heiko even bumped us up to the pimp suite on the top floor on the last night at no cost! Talk about hospitality. If you want a vacation of a lifetime, go to Hotel Cinco Sentidos. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days there and will undoubtedly come back one day.

My husband and I fell in love with Zihuatanejo last year and decided to have our wedding there. We found Hotel Cinco Sentidos in an article in Brides Magazine and flew to Zihua for the weekend to check out the hotel. Araceli, the owner, treated us like royalty, planning various meetings, tastings, etc., to help us prepare for the wedding. She went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us.

The hotel is absolutely perfect, with each room having it's own beauty and charm. We visited all the hotels on La Ropa Beach (for our wedding guests), and Cinco Sentidos is the very best for the price range. The rooms rival many of the rooms at the pricier hotels in Zihua (The Tides, Amuleto, Casa Que Canta, etc). Also, the views are spectacular. Some of the most beautiful views on La Ropa Beach.

As for the wedding, Araceli and I emailed and spoke on the phone for 5 months in preparation for the wedding. She contacted each and every one of the vendors, making my job so effortless. She has impeccable taste and followed through with every detail as if it was her own wedding. Initially we were going to have the wedding catered, but chose to have Heiko, who is a very talented and professionally trained chef, cook for for our entire reception. He worked around the clock the days leading up to the wedding. Needless to say, we feasted on fresh grilled lobster, shrimp, steak, fish, mango, salad, potatoes, etc. He did an excellent job and hired a most professional staff to assist him. Our guests are still raving about the food!!! The best wedding food we've ever had!!! Araceli even went out of her way and drove over 1 hour to pick up a large red snapper that was cooked in a neighboring village, "using special charcoal." She also ordered our cake, ensuring it was nearly identical to the photo I provided. In addition to cooking a great meal, Heiko worked tirelessly to prepare the hotel for the wedding. He did an excellent job and provided us with much assistance. Also, the staff was friendly and beyond hardworking. Both Rodrigo and Judy worked day and night, keeping the hotel perfectly clean and well kept.

Throughout the wedding week, we stayed in the grand suite, which is comparable to any of the luxury hotels in the area that charge over $500 per night. The room has a spectacular view and is one of the most romantic hotel rooms I've seen. There is a large infinity pool overlooking the bay, with a hammock and a large master bathroom. The bed is so very comfortable, and it was a pleasure to wake up to the gorgeous views of Zihuatanejo Bay.

Overall, we can't say enough great things about Hotel Cinco Sentidos. It is a charming and personable place to stay. It is an excellent value for such romantic and comfortable accomodations. The grounds are impeccably kept with much charm throughout. Do yourself a favor and indulge in a visit to Hotel Cinco Sentidos.
