“What a find!”

Casa Colonial

My family of 3 arrived in Cuernavaca by car without hotel reservations. Too bad it was a Saturday night! We walked into the Hotel Casa Colonial to ask about room availability. There was nothing .... but the wonderful woman at the front desk called 6+ places for us before finding us 1 room at a nearby hotel. The next day we were back and stayed at the Casa Colonial for the 5 days remaining of our Cuernavaca stay. Ask for a quiet room and you'll get exactly that. Room 4 is perfect, while rooms 5, 14, and 15 rank right up there, too.
Breakfast is excellent and a great value. A light dinner by the pool in the garden courtyard is peaceful and reasonable. Most sights are within a short walking distance. Rooms are tastefully furnished in classic Mexican; rooms are immaculate; WiFi is free;--- and actually works --- staff is great .... we look forward to returning.

“Beautiful colonial hotel”

Casa Colonial

This is a wonderful colonial hotel in excellent shape with beautiful rooms and a very helpful staff. It is conveniently located in central Cuernavaca practically across from the Robert Brady museum, which is definitely worth a 1-hour visit to see how this wealthy expatriate art collector lived and decorated his home in a former convent. The hotel is gorgeous with outdoor dining, reasonably priced delicious breakfasts (I recommend Desayuna Poblano) and a wonderful restaurant whose cuisine beats Las Manianitas hands down in my opinion (the experience at Las Manianitas is still worth it though). Our room #14 was fantastic with french doors opening onto a patio overlooking the pool. The patio has a couch and chairs in front of a working fireplace. This was wonderful on one cool evening. Also the bathroom has a sauna, which our boys loved to use and jump in the pool. They had a room back behind the outdoor bar area which was great for them - king sized bed and a futon in a small side room. The experience was unsurpassed. You should really stay at this place!

“Charming Downtown Historic Hotel with Fabulous Staff”

My husband and I stayed at this lovely, historic hotel located in downtown Cuernavaca in October 2007. It's in an excellent location to walk to many of the noted sites in the city. Please note, however, that it's located downtown. If you are looking for absolute quiet with all the 5-star amenities, with no city noise, this isn't the hotel for you. The common areas and grounds are absolutely lovely and peaceful. The furnishings are antique and very interesting. I highly praise their staff. Many speak English and all are very accommodating. If you are interested in hiring a private driver for day trips please inquire at the desk. Tepoztlan and Xochicalco (ruins) are easy day trips and highly recommended. We ate breakfasts at the hotel and the food was fabulous and well priced. For a special dinner I recommend the restaurant Gaia. Although we didn't stay in Room #1, the staff allowed us to view it and we will definitely reserve this room when we return. This hotel is also a great value.

“back to colonial times”

Casa Colonial

Sep 12, 2007

It was my first time at Cuernavaca. My travel agency highly recommend me to book at CASA COLONIAL. Before that I came to this web site and to have a look of the coments, which I always do before travelling.
Well, CASA COLONIAL is to go back in time to luxury, relax, attendance and many others small details from one of most professional team of people I never meet before in my life. Rooms, garden space, restaurant area, food quality and the perpetual smiling people give this small hotel something very special.
To the people who is talking in this web site about noises, make sure the special location of this five stars hotel in the middle of the city.
Do you mind to hear from while to while the go through of a car at the same time you are in that beautifull garden, or having a fantastic breakfast or talking very friendly with Ana and Juan, which are the charming managers? Think about it. Definitly I do prefer to come back always in my life.

“wonderful place to stay”

After having some trouble finding the hotel (we were driving) we were very pleased to walk into the courtyard of the Casa Colonial - it is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were lovely, and as we were in the back, it was very quiet. The breakfast was quite good and the setting, charming. The only complaint we had was that the twin bed in our mini suite was actually a cot and not at all comfortable for our 22 year old daughter. That was the only sour note in a wonderful stay. Helpful staff, great location, free parking.
