My friends and I stayed at this hotel in May 2004. The service was very good (the manager was very helpful). The bungalows were great. Our room was less than $150 and it had a sitting room with tv and a bedroom with 2 Queen sized beds, plus a bathroom with tub and shower. There was a private patio with table and chairs outside. There is a nice outdoor pool. There is a restaurant, although we never ate there. It is within walking distance of several high end restaurants. It is located downtown yet surrounded by gardens and walls it didn't feel like it was downtown. The room has an authentic feel. If you are interested in top of the line hotels, this is probably not the place for you. A downside was that there was no airconditioning (May is one of the hottest months). The hotel was originally the place where Cortez kept his horses.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights @ Posada Maria Cristana. We reserved a MASTER SUITE for $150/night. When we were shown to the room it was dark, dingy and smelled stale. It looked like a $35 room in the bad part of town. When I asked to see another room, the desk manager was very courteous and showed us a JR. SUITE which was priced @ $170/night.
This was better. It had several lights that actually worked, the bed was more comfortable and the bathroom was nicely tiled. I was told the reason for the higher price was the jacuzzi tub. However, when my wife tried to use it, the tub did not hold water, leaking at the stopper and she was unable to fill the tub to the jacuzzi jets. All in all, while the staff is friendly and welcoming---the management of this place is taking people for a ride. It's simply not worth what they charge for their rooms. Avoid it!

Noisy. Beds are of poor caliber. For the $ this Posada is not much value. Grounds and pool are very nice,but service is so-so. We stayed 2 nights,but one in cuernavca would have been better with more time in the much nicer town of Taxco.

I just loved it. The old architecture mixed with beautiful vegetation, makes you feel in a timeless place, just wonderful, excellent restaurant and service.
